It’s definitely psychological, but ever since I first started my period at age 9…yes NINE (a nightmare)… strawberry coolatas from Dunkin’ Donuts always make me feel better…I’m drinking one as I type!
Any one else have weird things they do to take the pain away?

@FutureMrsDM: A glass of merlot and a hot water bottle

@FutureMrsDM: Shower sex, shower sex makes it ALL better

Not really weird, but sitting or lying with my legs raised really really helps and if I take paracetamol before the pain starts then I’m usually virtually pain free for the whole event.

@FutureMrsDM: There’s an acupressure point on your calves that works really well (and this is coming from me, a person that doesn’t beleive in all that stuff!). It’s usually about midway your calves and you have to press it really hard.

@FutureMrsDM: I have a day and a half of extremely painful cramps each cycle. The only thing that works is Advil. I try to avoid it, but it’s just awful. Growing up my mom always had a cadbury milk chocolate bar at that time, and I definitely learned that habit from her. It’s so good and I’m not supposed to eat milk chocolate, but once in awhile, I indulge.

I used to do “cat & cow” like in yoga. I get tightness in my lower back with AF, so that really helps.
And of course, @Nona99: +1 on the wine 🙂

@renwoman: That’s cool! I’ll have to try that.
@Payless: Haha, I wish I could do that! I’m one of those girls where my sex drive is GONE during my period.

Running makes them go away for a little while!

I always play music, that helps me to stop mentally thinking about the cramps. Sex also helps.

Pills, chocolate, ben & Jerry’s, bath & hot water bottle.

Sleeping. I can’t handle the pain, so I sleep to forget about it. That and sitting down in a chair with my head at my knees.

Heating pad/hot water bottle/hot bath, sex, cardio (it sounds like the last thing you want to do, but honestly, working out helps!)
