hmm, food is going to take up a lot of your budget. Consider having an apps only reception, and if you’re going to have alcohol maybe put a couple of Two Buck Chucks on every table. flowers are probably going to blow your budget, you should limit them. If you’re comfortable with fakes, fake hydgrangeas will be cheap and the bunches will take up a lot of space. Try using white christmas lights to spruce up your room, you can get them very cheap (especially now). Michaels has very cheap invitations, I got mine $10 for 30 with the 40% off coupon.

First of all the gardens are GORGEOUS! We were going to have our in the Japanese Gardens but decided not to make everybody suffer in the July heat. lol. The best place to look for things is really craigslist, ebay, and on here. You would be surprised at the desorations you can find taht you never really thought of for pretty cheap. Christmas lights are a really good idea especially since everybody has those laying around and you don’t have to buy them if you can borrow them. Oh! And thrift stores. I have found a TON of things at thrift stores and the dollar tree… yes. The dollar tree. Some of my decorations are from there and you would never know it! I wish I knew your style and what you were wanting it to look like. Really, it comes down to how patient and thrifty you can be. I had a roommate who got married and she was on a budget so she bought a whole bunch of tissue paper from the Dollar Tree and make pomanders that she hung from the ceiling to give the space a bit more depth and pops of color. That is also an idea.

Sorry for rambling. I am good at that!

What is your venue? What time of day is the reception?

Biggest tip- scrounge craigslist. You can get many  items free- jars, old books, artificial flowers etc.

Do you have friends or family with gardens you can raid for flowers? As you are having mason jars it will look perfect to have “from the garden” type arrangements.
