My now Fiance surprised me with a sterling silver white sapphire as a place holder ring until we can afford the moissanite we both like. The sapphire was won on an auction and when it arrived it had the name of the seller and the website. The auction said it was a two carat equivalent white sapphire not including the halo. When I went to the website that the box had the only ring I could find on there that looked like it was a white topaz that also was two carats. But I’m not sure if that is total or just the center stone.
Im attaching a photo. I am a size 6 (this ring is slightly big on me. It spins a lot). I tried measuring it in mm it looks like it’s 8mm, which would mean its about 2 carats. I may be over thinking this lol.
The ring I am looking at replacing it with is Eng188 from Moissaniteco which is pretty similar to this ring.
what do you ladies think? Get a 2 carat? Or go with a 1.5 or maybe a 1.25?

Thank you. When he proposed with this it completely changed my mind from the emerald cut I’d had my eyes on.

I absolutely love that size on you! Do you find it’s comfy for daily wear?

I actually barely notice it except when it’s sunny lol. I did get a ring Snuggie to put on it because it’s probably about .25-.5 sizes too big. But I just lost the plastic piece and need to buy another one.
Yeah I adore the size too. He did good picking it!

Bear in mind that sapphires are more dense than diamond – thus a 2 ct sapphire will face up smaller than a 2 ct diamond.
This is why the dimensions of a gemstone are usually given, rather than carat weight.
Try this site to compare the known dimensions of your sapphire to the carat sizes that you are interested in. You can input exact dimensions, stone cut, ring size, finger length etc if known.
