We’re doing Sunday morning so people who are traveling don’t have to take off any work/school to come to the rehearsal.

We are having a Sunday evening wedding.  The venue we wanted books up well over a year in advance so when we called, they only had two Sundays left.  It actually ended up working out rather well since we picked July 1st and a lot of our guests have work schedules that are giving them long weekends for the 4th of July.

That!

I  actually think our venue had had the same price for Saturday and Sunday, because they get a lot of Jeiwsh weddings which are all on Sundays. We did not want to have a late ceremony, so we could not do a Saturday.

I’m a Sunday too. We went from the planned  140+ people formal wedding, dinner/dance and changed to a Sunday evening, twilight ceremony with 70ish people and a cocktail reception. Cheaper, less headache, and that makes me happy.

We just booked Sunday, 4/7/13. everything was open, but the one place that would let us bring our own caterer, that also had a kitchen for them (go figure) was twice as much for the venue on friday and sat then sun through thursday. So sunday it will have to be!

We have the venue from 10-10, so figuring a 4pm ceremony, that weill still get people on their way early enough to get some rest for work…except for those who want to after party ๐Ÿ˜‰

Otherwise I guess we could do a lunch, but I really wanted dinner and dancing…

People coming in are going to have a more difficult time though

We chose a Sunday too because of the price difference (close to 50/per person difference) and because where we booked gave us Sunday rates, even on a holiday weekend so it’s the best of both worlds!  Sunday prices, but the next day isn’t a work day!  I’ve run into difficulties with the church portion though, because I guess there’s rules around performing weddings on a Sunday.

We’re planning for a Sunday, but that’s just because I want that date ๐Ÿ™‚  I’m a little worried that a Saturday would be better, though, given people have work on Monday etc.  Oh well!

We’re doing a Sunday lunch because the venue costs 1/3 of what it normally would on a Saturday, plus my photographer is letting us hire her hourly since it’s not a very popular day.

If my daydreams about my wedding day go through (engagement is still probably about a year/ year and a half off) I’ll be having a Sunday wedding ๐Ÿ™‚  But I like the symmetry of getting married on our anniversary and the anniversary after we graduate happens to be on a Sunday so it’ll be nice that venues and the like will be cheaper but it was more about the anniversary part.

Sunday just worked better for us and we are going to party just like it’s a Saturday night.
