We are also having a Sunday (9/9/12) afternoon wedding. Our venue is a classic landmark in the area, the kind that “every little girl dreams of” and when we got engaged in July of 2011, there were no Saturdays left in 2012! It has worked out well so far; we’ve been able to book every vendor we wanted, usually for less $$. Our ceremony will be at 2:00, cocktail hour at 3:00 and reception from 4:00 – 8:00, so its a relatively early night for those who have to work then next day.

I’m a Sunday bride as well, for religious reasons.

Sunday for us. We’re Jewish so that’s pretty much it!

We’re having a Sunday afternoon wedding! We decided on Sunday for a number of reasons.. I didn’t want a huge crazy party, worked better for some people’s work schedules, and slight savings for our venue. But probably the biggest reason we went with Sunday, was because there is an opera house next door to our venue & it gets really crowded when they have shows, and no show on that Sunday 🙂

Our is on August 26th. I am a wedding photographer and my fiance is a musician. It was weeks of going back and forth with the photographer and venue we wanted trying to sort out dates that worked for us and the only one that would is a Sunday. We were really disappointed but decided to run with it. After reading all of the reviews on Sunday weddings and inconvenience I have a knot in my stomach- assumed the friends and family who really wanted to celebrated (plenty of 20 something close friends who are down for a good time) would take that Monday off. Few people will fly in. Always imagined an evening wedding with a busy dance floor and hate to see people head home.
Our wedding is also 1.5 hours outside of the city, so whoever will come will need to stay the night anyway.

One of my matrons of honor is Jewish and had a 5pm Sunday wedding in NYC. It worked out really well- Out of Town guests were invited to a welcome lunch the day before, and people had time to do some sightseeing. Most guests took the next day off, and the party was still going strong at 11.
