I was on that for years.  Wasn’t ever sure if it helped.  I don’t think I had any huge side effects.  I questioned if maybe I needed something else and tried Prozac and that works much better for me.  Everybody’s body is different and will have different experiences.  It usually is supposed to take apx. two weeks to “start working”.  You can have GI side effects at the end of taking it I experienced that and my Dr. said that your stomach is effected by it.  I read some things on the internet about possilble heart related issues but you never know with meds these days.

Give it a chance it may just help you.  Just don’t try getting pregnant with this.  I hope you start feeling better.

I was on Zoloft, and it didn’t do a ton for me. It did make me really sleepy. I would take a 3 hour nap during the day, then still sleep between 8-10 hours at night. I went through this when I was in college, so at least I had time during the day I could sleep, but it wasn’t the best choice!

I took generic Zoloft for several months. Only went off because I had Seasonal Affective Disorder and spring came. I thought it helped. It leveled me out when I needed it. Technically, some antidepressants have been shown to be as effective as placebo. That doesn’t mean it won’t help you though, placebo effects are still very real effects. You just have to believe that it will help. If your doc thinks it’s a good idea, give it a shot. I didn’t have any side effects. I wouldn’t think about or anticipate any side effects because the anticipation alone can make you feel like you’re experiencing them.

I was given this by my internist. I took it for several years and saw no change. I eventually started seeing a psychologist and she recommended I see a psychiatrist to get on the right medication for me, as internists do not know all the ins and outs of these kinds of medications. I was then put on Lexapro and have been better ever since.

I have been on Zoloft for 2 years and it really turned my life around.  It took about a month to kick in, and it really helps.  It evens outt my moods, and makes my lows… less low.  I had no memorable side effects
