i have a visible tattoo- it’s on my wrist. my mother has tattoos (yes, my mom), and my maid of honor has a few that will be visible. i’m just waiting for my Future Mother-In-Law to ask for them to be covered. and i’m gonna be like, “… no.” cause we all have them. it’s not her business.

@s2bmrscook:  Such a lovely picture!  The tattoos on his hands make it for me.  Love it.

All of you tattooed brides rock it out.  I want a half sleeve so badly, but wedding coming up next year and all.  Priorities right now.  Being a responsible adult sucks.

@eeerika22:  I’m so sorry your mom is being uncool about your tattoos! That sucks. Maybe the next time she mentions something about them, you could say something like, “Mom, when you say stuff like that about my tattoos, it really hurts my feelings, and it’s starting to get to the point where it’s making me depressed (or whatever.) I’d appreciate it if you could stop with the comments.”

I have a lot of tattoos, my bac. Is completely covered, so I opted for a lace back dress to help mute the bright colors but not completely cover them up. Fiance has a full sleeve, and one of the groomsmen is covere. (Including face and neck).

Im sure a lot of people will have opinions of us at our wedding. But I don’t really care. It’s about us, and we love our tattoos. If I were you I would try nit to stress about it too much.

What beautiful tattoos you ladies have! I’ve always wanted one but I can’t get over it will be there your whole life. I barely like wearing the eye shadow two days in a row, I just can’t see how I could live with something permanent!

@CarpefnDiem:  I so would like to see a pic of your mermaid with the afro. I may have giggled at that. More than I should have. I also may or may not have pictured Ariel. (Gorgeous dress btw)

@eeerika22:  Wear them proudly. My sis has had quite a few and she wore them proudly on her day. She looked lovely. And I am sure you will too.

My SO and I are tattooed. I love my tattoos, and so does he so I wouldn’t dream of covering them up. He’s tattooed from his head to his feet (literally, his whole head is tattooed).

OH, and for the record my Mother HATES tattoos. When I was buying my dress she said that it would look beautiful if I got rid of my disgusting tattoos.. yep. I’m used to ignorant narrowminded comments, so that sort of stuff rolls off my back.

@eeerika22:   There’s hope! The very first words out of my Mom’s mouth when she saw the ink were ‘What are you, a Yakuza whore? Only prostitutes and gang members have tattoos’. It took a decade, but she came around eventually 🙂 We forget that for our generation(s), tattoos aren’t a big deal, but for many in the prior generation, no decent people got tattoos outside of the military, and that exception didn’t apply for women.

We are eloping so I’m not super concerned about my tattoos showing but my parents hate my tattoos. My dad says they’re trashy all the time, I just laugh.. It’s not like I’m gonna get rid of them.

He also tries to say that “if god wanted tattoos on my body, he would have given them to me” I don’t believe in God, but my response is that “if god wanted me to wear clothes all the time he would have provided me with them”……he shuts up

I have a half sleeve and my family HATES it, but I’ve gotten use to it. I’m not letting their opinions bother me.

Wear them with pride! I don’t have any…mostly due to cost honestly but Fiance has a lot and wants more. By the time he’s done his chest and back will be covered and down both arms slightly.

I have to say though, this reminds me of when he was discussing his latest with an older couple that we are friends with (the husband is a retired professor). They were so upset that he would mark his body and his response was “You’ve known me for years and never realized I had several before. I don’t think one more will make a difference!’ His tattoos do not show at all even with a short sleeved dress shirt…he actually looks like such a clean cut geek! lol
