Meeee! Full sleeves, strapless dress. The one sleeve isn’t done yet, but will be by the time the wedding comes.
They’re a part of me. Simple as that. My family doesn’t mind them *though Gma often makes the “well… are you done yet?” or “do you think you went a bit far?” comment every once in awhile.

- Wedding: November 2013 - castle green
I have lots of tattoos and my parents are finally getting used to it.. but my mother in law, during the process of dress shopping asked me straight up “what are we doing about your tattoos?” and I told her straight up “nothing, i got them for a reason and im just going to leave them”. and that was the last we spoke on it lol. At my wedding, i felt like my tattoos really helped compliment my dress and ive had people tell me that they looked awesome together!
youre going to look beautiful regardless!

@fredericksondes: Your dress is stunning with your tattoos!!! You look amazing and thank you! I cant wait to start actually trying on dresses..I think once I see myself in my perfect dress with my tattoos I will feel better about it. I know I wont look trashy but since its all my mom talks about its hard not to feel that way. In the process of zoning it out now thanks to all the help from the ladies on here!

@CarpefnDiem: That is seriously too awesome for words. I take back my giggle and replace it with a gasp of admiration. 🙂
@cml and @ccantics Those are awesome dresses! And they look incredible on you ladies!

I have 3 tattoos, only one of which was visible on my wedding day (on my wrist), but I didn’t intentionally hide the other 2, they are just in places that didn’t show while in my dress! I personally think most brides look beautiful in their dresses with their tattoos visible 🙂

@eeerika22: I would wear them proudly and ignore the negativity.
@ccantics: I absolutely LOVE your dress! And your tattoos, you will be gorgeous on your wedding day!
I don’t have any tattoos yet, but plan to have some in the near future. Unfortunately my chosen career (teaching) is not friendly whatsoever to visible tatoos, which makes me sad. So I will have to think carefully where I put the ink.

I’m so sorry that’s very sad, especially coming from your mother. I just got married in Sept and I have a full sleeve and part of my back covered and I didn’t feel odd at all, my mom has never made me feel bad about my tattoos though either….
Obviously you’re used to her remarks (still doesn’t make them ok) but they’re your tattoos, they have meaing to you and assuming you love all of yours as much as I love all of mine maybe tell you mom her remarks are of no help, your tattoos aren’t going anywhere so she can keep her unwanted opinions to herself. Hopefully she is making jabs and doesn’t realize how hurtful they truly are to you. As a mom she should love you no matter what you look like and respect you decisions (body art included)!!

@eeerika22: tattoos are part of who you are, hubby-to-be obviously loves you for who you are, ink included….dont feel you have to hide them because someone thinks it wont portray the right ‘bridal image’!
and my beautiful tat/garter shot!

@eeerika22: when I got engaged I actually budget my wedding with more tattoos… I’m actually getting 3 more to make almost a full sleave. They are tattoos I wanted to get for my family who’s past away. My father grandmother and cousin. I must have them done before the wedding.

I know it is very hard but try not to let your mom stress you out about your ink. Its a part of you and you should look like you on your wedding day. There is a reason why you got your tattoos so embrace them and wear them proudly on your wedding day.
My mom isn’t a fan of tattoos at all and wished mine were easier to hide (I have two total) but she was happy to see my wrist tattoo in all of my cake photos. The flower is in remberance of her father who LOVED deserts and she made a comment that he was there with us in spirit.
