So I already have a list of DIY things I need to do before our June wedding! One was a seating chart. I have had countless ideas from inspirational photos about how I wanted it to look and then I found this:
I love this! Our theme is “picture perfect” with a shabby chic style.
I want our last initial which will be “S” in the middle to have a more shabby chic feel, definitely not like this one. but I love the idea of the chart all together. The frame, the bows..sigh.
But I have NO IDEA how to make this. obviously I need a frame…..but then what????
HELP me Bees!!
I am pretty creative, but I need a few ideas on this one. Do you think that is burlap in the frane holding up the table numbers and Initial?? Is burlap strong enough to do that or should I assume that there is maybe cardboard or something behind the burlap??

Looks like you’ll need burlap (find at JoAnns or a local fabric shop), cardstock, ribbon and patterns for the tags and a wooden letter. Maybe you can make your letter with different types of fabric?

I don’t know for certain, but I’d suggest a thin corkboard covered in burlap then framed (although I guess that the original frame wouldn’t fit around that so you’d probably need to nail it or something). Then the place cards would be fairly easy to make with nice card to suit your colour scheme, and I’g get some cute drawing pins to tack them to the board.
Hope this helps!

It would also make a cute corkboard for your kitchen after the wedding too!

To make the burlap push pin, you could do this super easy if you get a big peice of cork board and cover it with burlap fabric; then cut it to fit the frame.

How did your frame turn out? Do you have a photo of it?

Burlap on top of a sheet of foam core would work well with push pins – you can get it at a craft store or dollar store. I’d love to see how this turns out!
