I used whole foods for macarons and my cake (cake was small and just cut into for pictures).   I was happy with the prices, as most places wanted $3+ for the macarons, and whole foods did them for $1.99 plus a 10% discount.  I ordered 300, so you can see why every dollar made a difference.  The only thing I was a bit put off by was that the fillings were supposed to be raspberry jam, but they used a cream instead.  So if you have specifics, I would make sure you write everything down clearly on your order.

I went twice to the florist at the same whole foods to enquire about flowers, but she was very unhelpful and never got back to me.  I ended up ordering bulk flowers from a store in yorkville and making my own bouquets/centerpieces/bouts.

Hi there, I cannot speak to cake, however my flowers were done by Sobey’s and they were amazing! My very chic and lah-dee-dah photographer could not believe that’s where they came from! Oh and $230 for 1 bridal bouquet, 3 bridesmaids bouquets, 8 boutineres, high quality flowers, no fillers and no greens!:)

leembee:  May I ask where you went in Yorkville? I want to do my own bud vases for our reception, and am looking for places to purchase flowers.

torontobeach:  I actually used Sobey’s outside of GTA as that’s where my wedding was (Ancaster, ON), but I thought you might want to try them? So sorry I can’t be of more help and if you were mislead by my posting. I just thought I would share my experience with Sobey’s as it would be more cost effective than Whole Foods. I am betting Loblaws would be a good option. I have had friends get flowers from a Loblaws in Mississauga that were nice and other Loblaw owned chains like Fortino’s in the Hamilton area. Good luck!

MrsLeb:  my wedding is being held in Ancaster as well! Do you know if Sobeys would sell cheap flower bunches so I can do my own arrangements?

MariLPxo:  That’s awesome! Old Mill? I got married at Knollwood Golf Club it was fantastic. I am sure the bunches of flowers would be cheaper than a florist however maybe there is a wholesaler in the area? (I don’t know if there is one or not)
