Look through Groupon, Living Social…you’ll find good deals there.

Cruises are cheap, and yes, Groupon Getaways always has good stuff.

TO @lexmek27: you said…

Basically, the clearer the water, the better.

So are we to assume then that you are interested in Snorkelling / Scuba / Snuba etc. ??

Because some Islands / Destinations will certainly better for those pursuits than others…

Groupon always has great deals. I have always saved a lot by using Cheap Caribbean as well.

we used a groupon for half of our honeymoon in Fiji. everything went fine. As far as dates and blackouts just make sure you read the fine print before buying. Look up the hotel for reviews on trip advisor, and check normal rates to make sure it’s actually a good deal. But yeah groupon getaways definitely has some good options.

@lexmek27:  We just booked our honeymoon to Couples Tower Isle for 1 week (June 30 – July 7) this summer for right at $3,500 through Costco including EVERYTHING (airfare, taxes, gratuity, etc). I would highly recommend looking at the Costco Travel site and seeing if anything looks good to you. If it does, and you know someone who belongs to Costco, you can easily use their membership # to book the trip. If you don’t, you can buy a year’s membership online for just around $50, which definitely is worth it for the savings you get on the trip. Hope that helps! Let us know what you decide 🙂

I’m not sure where you live but in Canada we have a site called selloffvacations.com. If you’re flexible on dates and locations you can get a pretty cheap trip. You may not be able to leave the day after your wedding, but a few days later. And you’d have to book a little close to when you leave. They basically sell any last minute spots at all inclusives that aren’t booked.

The best way to get the best price is to book last minute. Right now I am in El Salvador at a resort that we booked on Tuesday, left on Thursday, and we paid less the 700 each, and it is March Break which jacks up the price hugely.

Honestly, almost all resorts are the same. they all offer the same type of activites. and the where may not matter much if you are just wanting to chill and lounge on the beach.

Places like Cuba, DR, and Jamaica are typically the cheapest.

travelzoo top 20 has some good options a well. I would also consider talking to a travel agent who specializes in such vacaions. We booked Jamaica through an agent and she was able to get us a better price on the hotel several months after we booked which made me happy to have her. We also got an amazing upgrade upon arrival which she may or may not have had something to do with.
