@MrsHoneyC:  I didn’t realize that you had Grave’s Disease! As you have been stable for so long, I hope that you do not have issues… But just wanted to say good luck and baby dust to you! We have several ladies in our OB clinic that have thyroid disease, sometimes their fertility was hella affected (when it was out of control) and other times their fertility wasn’t affected at all! GL!!!!! =)

I have graves and am about to get a total thyroidectomy next month but, unfortunately for this thread, I am not ttc.  I do wish you luck and I hope you get pregnant quickly.  Just wanted to chime in with my support!

@MrsHoneyC: Thank you for the advice!  I have never had surgery before and I didn’t even think about any of that stuff!

@MrsHoneyC:  That is awesome!  From what I’ve seen, it appears as though the scar really fades nicely.  How has managing your thyroid hormones been since your TT?  I’m a bit concerned about that since I’ve read some horror stories online about people wishing they had never had their thyroids removed and stuff.  I can’t help but think that anything’s got to be better than how I feel now though.

@MrsHoneyC:  Oh that is so good to hear about your heart!  I feel you there.  I have to take a lot of beta blockers 4 times daily to keep my heart rate under 100 bpm.  If I miss a dose, my heart rate easily goes up to 120bpm or higher when I am not even moving and I get severe palpitations every couple of minutes.  It’s very difficult to deal with.  I look forward to my heart beating a normal pace again!

@MrsHoneyC:  I’m sorry that I don’t have any advise to give you, but I did have to stop in and tell you that you are absolutely stunning in the picture you posted on the day of your wedding ^_^;;

I wish you all the best in your TTC journey ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m a long time lurker here and this post peaked my interetest. I was diagnosed with Grave’s dz over a year ago, after a LONG time of feeling absolutely horrible (+2yrs). I was told that I needed a therapist to deal with my anxiety issues, I was put on SSRI’s. Nothing helped, but I just dealt with it. Finally when I went in for a “pre-conception” drs visit they checked my TSH which was undetectable. Just one year ago I did Radioactive Iodine therapy…the 6 months after were a bit of a rollercoaster, but now i feel amazing. I am on Synthroid for life now, but it is so worth it. I was not allowed to TTC for 6 months after RAI. Starting in May we started trying, but no luck so far. I don’t know if it has anything to do with Grave’s/RAI or not.
