@TwoCityBride:  I have a twin sister!  I’m the older one by 13 minutes.  People say that we look identical, but we haven’t been tested yet to determine whether that’s true or not.  We’re the only kids our parents had together.  We do have three siblings on our father’s side.

My twin’s in the Air Force and lives in the south.  I work at a non-profit in the DC area.  She got married 7 years ago and I was the Maid/Matron of Honor at her wedding.  She’s going to by my Maid/Matron of Honor next year, and her totally adorable 2 year-old son is going to be the ring bearer.

We talk as often as we can (used to be every day, but a training course she’s in has cut that down to about 3 times a week or so).  And we’ve been to the Twins Festival in Twinsburg, OH, a few times.  We plan to go again this year.  It’s such a fun bonding time since we live so far apart now, plus it’s great being around so many other twins!!!

A funny story:  when my sister graduated from Officer Training School, she invited me as her date to a formal graduation dinner.  When I showed up at the venue in a floor-length gown instead of dress blues, some of the newly-minted officers thought I was my sister out of uniform.  That was a good laugh.

What’s your funny story?  I wanna know!  Lol!

I’m a twin. We’re fraternal. We’re nothing alike and look nothing alike and we’re not close as friends either.

We’re 1 minute apart and the oldest (she was first out). We have a younger half sister.

I actually think we’re fraternal because we’re so different – personality wise, interests, even fashion sense at times.  I think people assume that just because twins look alike that they’re identical, but of course there’s so much more than that to take into consideration.  One of these days we’ll get the test done to determine for sure!

And that IS a funny story!  I think the closest thing I have to that is when guys make terribly inappropriate comments about “getting with twins.”  That once happened in the presence of my sister’s hubby; and the guy said it while standing next to his girlfriend.  Talk about awkward.

Are you going to the festival this year?

@kayberry:  I’m sorry to hear that you and your twin aren’t that close.  Frown  My sister and I did go through a phase when we were younger where we didn’t get along – at all.  But that stopped right around middle school; now we’re two peas in a long distance pod.  I hope you two can get closer with time.

I’m not a twin, but my ex who I dated for 3 years was a fraternal twin and I have a funny story!

We dated in college and he was a year older than me. My sophomore year, I still lived in the dorms, and a girl who lived on my floor played on the softball team. So she goes to a different school to play a game, comes back and calls me out of my room. She’s asking me all these different questions on if I knew where my Boyfriend or Best Friend was that day and if I actually saw him or if he just said he was in his room.

She told me that she went to this other school, and she swore she saw him there kissing another girl. I kept thinking about it and was like…no way, I totally talked to him at 1 and it was from his room. It then dawned on me that the school she went to was his brother’s college…she totally saw his twin with his girlfriend and thought it was my Boyfriend or Best Friend. Really nice of her to let me know that she thought he was cheating on me, and we totally had a pretty good laugh about it later.

I have a twin brother! I’m older by 7 minutes. We did not get along from the time we were in Kindergarten until we went away to college, but now we’re pretty good friends. He gets along really well with my Fiance, which is important to me.

I’ve always wanted to go to the annual Twin Days, especially since there are 3 sets of twins in my immediate family… I always thought it’d be fun to go with all my brothers and sisters!

@TwinABee:  Thanks!

I mean I definitely try but she’s got an… interesting personality. She’ll be nice one day then super passive aggressive or just outright bitchy the next.

So I never know where we stand. It’s better now that we’re older and I’m hoping it gets better in time.

Darling Husband has an identical twin and let me tell ya.. that was pretty interesting at the wedding for my side of the guest list that didn’t know/hadn’t seen the two of them together before! Darling Husband wore a silver vest while the rest of the groomsmen wore green (our wedding color) so that was basically the only way people could tell them apart, and people still walked up to DH’s twin and congratulated him all night!! He was the best man and it was cool to see the wedding photos of them together =]

As far as their twinliness, it is straight up creepy at times! They are the exact same. They talk the same, laugh the same, have the same mannerisms, say the same statements, etc. When we first started dating I would go through photos of them on fb and “quiz” myself to make sure I could distinguish between the two! Of course now they look nothing alike to me because, well, one of them is my husband, but yeah!
