Me!  I’m getting married October 2010, and I’m a wedding officiant / Celebrant.  It’s interesting to be on the other side of the planning, and it’s SO MUCH HARDER than I thought to really find other wedding professionals who I absolutely love and want to be a part of my wedding (so far – the toughest has been the DJ and the officiant search!).

So far, my favorite thing has been discussing our plans our florist and buying my dress πŸ™‚

I live in New Jersey, but we’re getting married in New York State.

What kind of vendor are you?  I’m a photographer like you πŸ™‚

When are you getting married? We got married April 5, 2009

What’s the best part of planning your wedding? I really enjoyed putting our website together and sharing the story of our love and our life with our family and friends.  I also LOVED registering for gifts and getting presents in the mail all the time.

What’s the worst part about planning your wedding? We planned from a different state than we got married in.  We lived in Georgia and got married in Florida.  Every time we went home it was a flurry of wedding stuff to do and no time to relax.  Our parents were in Florida, so they helped a lot.

Anything else?

I hated picking out flowers. We went to three or four florists and then I gave up.

I let my mom pick the florist and she described the vibe of the wedding to them

and they NAILED it with the centerpieces. Submerged orchids in cylinder vases,

and they looked amazing.

What kind of vendor are you?

I sell wedding accessories, invitations, gifts, and a whole lot more.

When are you getting married?

March 31, 2011

What’s the best part of planning your wedding?

Going through the process, so I know just how hard it is. It is definately making me stronger.

What’s the worst part about planning your wedding?

The worst part was when my hard drive went out and I lost everything that I had saved for the planning, like music, DIY stuff, styles, etc.

Anything else?

I am happy that I have an opportunity to go through this from start to finish.

It will make it much easier to relate with the newer brides.

What kind of vendor are you?

I’m the Director of Sales and Catering for a portfolio of 3 resorts.  I am the only sales and catering person for all three properties.  This past spring alone we did over 30 weddings between the months of March and May!

When are you getting married?

November 13, 2010

What’s the best part of planning your wedding?

Knowing all of the best local vendors and having such a great working and personal relationship with them.  I’ve not asked for any discounts or favors, but some of my long time vendors have extended them to me on their own, which is extremely generous and thoughtful.

What’s the worst part about planning your wedding?

Feeling so desensitized to the whole process.  I hate not getting the giddy planning feelings that all of the first time brides get.  Also, I’m so busy planning the weddings at work, that all of our planning falls to the back burner.

Also, because this is what I do for a living, everyone is expecting our wedding to be this amazing event, which really puts the pressure on!  I feel like telling them that just because this is what I do for work, doesn’t mean I have a limitless budget for this “event of the year” they are all expecting.

What kind of vendor are you?

I’m a photographer now….  still design invitations on the side. Fell in love with weddings when i worked as AD for a bridal mag. πŸ™‚

When are you getting married?

Got married in October of this year.

What’s the best part of planning your wedding?

So many options, choices and great beautiful ideas.

What’s the worst part about planning your wedding?

Wanting everything! Couldn’t decide on a theme or colors because I loved all of them. Hubby wanted to make our wedding cake (he’s a pastry chef) and I told him he was insane even though I designed our STDS and invites.

Anything else?

Love weddings! I had to plan our wedding three times from scratch. The last two times was planned 1) in 24 hours and the 2) was in less than a week and a half. Even after all that, I would do it a again in a heartbeat. πŸ™‚

What kind of vendor are you? event designer/planner

When are you getting married? yet to be seen πŸ˜€

What’s the best part of planning your wedding? marrying M πŸ˜€ I still shake  thinking of being his wife

What’s the worst part about planning your wedding? trying to plan an event that is amazing and couture and cutting edge so that my clients can see and understand what my company is about, yet true enough to myself and my frugalista mind thinking.. i am very afraid of all of this and it drives me crazy with worry.  m hasn’t even asked and I am worried about pulling off an event that deserves to have my company’s name on it…

Anything else? love photographers and hope that i can afford the one of my dreams..
