Erg, I don’t want to hire someone to do my website. I can do basic html and am fine with the designs on mywedding or weddingchannel but I want to tweak and don’t think they’ll let me. I want to add our monogram to the top banner for instance or have the photos next to the text instead of above. Small little easy tweaks but it doesn’t seem like you can 🙁
Anyone have any ideas?

Yeah! I used GoogleSites. You can’t do TOO much big changes, but you have a lot of freedom with little tweaks. I looked in to MyWedding and the like as well, but they didn’t give me enough freedom. GoogleSites worked really well — we used it for our RSVPs too. Here’s the link to ours: our wedding website.

I also used google sites and didn’t use a template so it came out sort of “Internet retro”. Our site: http://www.seanandemilygetmarried.com

Why don’t you try Blogger or WordPress ?

i created one using WIX they have free site templates you can use, its meant more for businesses but you can do EVERYTHING on it. I have a comment board and direction links with google, music playing while you view our past couple pictures etc. you just have to change the info they start you with, you can change the pictures, add links etc. you will have a completely unique website. I have mine up but haven’t given it out yet and would be happy to share with anyone, just message me. If you decide to go that route I would be happy to help with any questions.
