Does anyone wear or buy white sapphires anymore for engagement rings? I know there are many choices out there. But, I would love to see some images of white sapphire rings if there are any out there. I’m also very interested if you got the setting made or if you bought a pre-made setting. All pics welcomed!! Thanks!

I don’t have a white sapphire ring, but DH bought my engagement ring (a padparadsha) through the Natural Sapphire Company and they have a wide selection of white sapphires there!

I have a white sapphire! But I will say my Fiance and I aren’t thrilled with how it looks in overcast lighting situations. So much that now we’ve ordered an Amora Gem and will be setting my white sapphire in a necklace or bracelet. It’s gorgeous in the sun and in most lighting but since we’re outside a lot it bugged us.

how would you describe it in overcast lighting? could you post a picture please? i’m really interested in how the sparkle compares to diamond.

It’s sunny here today, but it’s almost yellow on overcast days, Fiance thinks it gooks green. We never saw this tone when we picked it out! It looked like a diamond and we loved how it sparkled. The biggest difference is that you won’t get the flashes of color like in a diamond. White sapphires only “sparkle” white light, which I do like! I just wish I had done more research and looked at the stone outside and not in the jewlers’ light.
I’ll try to get some pictures as it turns to evening and post!

I have a white sapphire!! I LOVE it and think it’s so gorgeous! I don’t know a lot about stones, so I don’t really notice “imperfections” in it or whatnot, all I know is once I clean it up, it sparkles like CRAZY (and I’ve never noticed it reflecting other colors but white) and it’s so beautiful!

I am obsessed with mine! It looks best in overcast lighting- it can look a bit dark in the sun.

Here’s some pictures Ijust took. Sorry for being so big, they’re from my phone. But now after seeing these ladies beautiful stones it’s making me think we should just go back to the jewler to get a different stone! And this time ask to see it in more than two lighting situations. You may not be able to see the strange color in these pictures, this was actually pretty good evening light.
