Hi ladies,

I recently ordered the Marnie dress for my October wedding. What do you think? Has anyone successfully added sleeves onto this?

I would love if more of you could share your pics so I can have more ideas for accessories, shoes, hair, makeup ,etc :). Especially shoes… I am getting married in the woods and don’t want to wear super dressy heals or flats really. I would love to find little boots that would go with this… but I’m not sure that works with the style of dress? I would have to see it together – I can’t visualize it. What do you ladies think of the shoes at the end of this post? I’m trying for a more boho look.

Pics of me trying on the dress:

Shoes I like but not sure they would go with it… (pics from pinterest)

Thanks for your help!

mich416:  you look beautiful, I wish I had pics of my accessories to share.  I got a belt that is basically an ivory thick ribbon  that has a little bling and pearl design in the center (about 5 inches) and then ties beautifully in the back.    I got an ivory cathedral length veil that has a 2.5 inch lace design (similar to the lace on the bodice) , it also has subtle bling and pearl on the lace and it ties in nicely with the belt.  I found rose gold flat sandals at off Broadway.  I am wearing my hair down half down (braid pull back) with loose curls.

i don’t know what state you live in but October you should be able to get away with no sleeves, I live in Georgia and I feel like anywhere in the south you can pull it off.  Besides the dress is so beautiful the way it is.  If you are worried it will be too cold, I’ve seen really really cute pictures of people wearing (faux) fur shaws, like a light brown and gold look.

if you like a boho look a pretty baby’s breath crown would be pretty.  Also, look at green eucalyptus leaves to add to your bouquet. I think those little fringe booties are adorable.

marnie

I just picked up my Marnie gown this past Saturday! Excuse the awkward photo, haha, my mom caught only one photo with me not paying attention.

Thoughts on the lace bunching around my midsection/hip area? I’m thinking I need to trim down a few pounds.. haha. I need some honest opinions here. Other than the bunching bothering me and the ‘straps’ needing to be taken up, it fits perfectly!

Any ladies interested in purchasing an all Ivory Marnie size 22W?

I bought my Marnie as a second dress option because I just couldn’t get it out of my head. It was too close to my wedding for the manufacturer to make me a gown so I found one another bride had purchased, but didn’t wear (weight fluctuations).

I wear a street 16/18 and bought a 22W. Unfortunately, the alterations were too extensive and I ended up going with my first choice. So technically, even though the dress has had two owners…its never been worn. It’s still in the original manufacturer’s garment bag. Anyone interested?

Has anyone altered the top of the dress to make it a little more modest? I think I want to add some lace to the lower part of the v, but haven’t found many examples of what it would look like online.
