I was 22 when I got engaged and will be 24 when I get married! Fiance just turned 31. I haven’t copped many comments about being too young, but this isn’t my first serious relationship (I was with my ex for four years and lived with him) so I think that changes people’s opinions a bit.

I’m 21, Fiance is turning 24, we’re getting married on our 6 year anniversary (got together at 15 and 18).
We’ve only had one comment that we’re too young, and that was from a guy our age (he even admitted that when he said that he was making assumptions because he doesn’t feel ready, so understandable) and we had one comment from my ex-step dad who asked when the baby was due.. A) We’re having a 19 month engagement and B) we’d been together for nearly 4.5years at that point, it’s not like we’re rushing.
With those 2 exceptions though everyone has been super supportive of our upcoming marriage.
We don’t really have a theme. I’m going for an enchanted forest feel, but we’re not going OTT with it so I doubt guests will even notice. Our colours are dark purple, ivory and champagne/gold.
I’ve just enrolled in school to become an accredited equine sports massage therapist, I’ve worked on a farm for the last 2 years, and Fiance manages the farm.

I’m 23 and he’s 25; we get looks cause we had a short courtship (exactly a year) and an even shorter engagement (3 months before we went to the courthouse and 7 months before the wedding). My thoughts are if you know it feels right then go for it!!!

I’m 23, just got engaged last month, and our wedding is in January! We’ll both be 24 (FI will be a month shy of 25). We’re having a vintage themed wedding (*sigh, the “gatsby” craze, it would have been our theme regardless not just because it’s a trend, luckily the trend means I have more dresses to choose from though!), colors: black, gold, white, silver, with minimal (if any, I’m thinking like my nails/lips/minimal decor) red

Me! I’ll be 21 on my wedding day and got engaged at 19. I’ve never gotten the “You’re too young” speech from anyone, which doesn’t really surprise me since it’s relatively common around here to get married in your early, early 20s.
Coming from the area and background that I do, I actually think it’s pretty crazy that anyone would think 25 is a young bride. To me, 18/19 is a young bride, and a 16/17 year old bride is worthy of “the speech.”
I haven’t picked my colors yet, but right now I’m leaning towards something like this:

I am 21 and he is 22, and we will be 23 and 24 when we get married. We’ve been together for 9 years so people are expecting us to get engaged! Everyone has been asking me when it will happen lately
I guess our theme would be elegant, traditional Italian, and our colours (as of now) are deep purple, cream & dark green.

We will both be 22 when we get married! (Though he’ll turn 23 6 days later!) We’ve been together since we were 15 and 16.
Since we got engaged, we haven’t really had anything but supportive comments! I’m pleasantly surprised! It’s fairly common in my area to get married right after college graduation, so I guess I’m not really that surprised lol.
We’re having a wooden wedding! Our colors are Navy, Blush, and Light Tan!

I got engaged when I was 19 too! 🙂 ill be 21 when we get married this summer, super excited! After awhile the “you’re so young” remarks won’t bother you anymore especially with a supportive family, they’re all that really matter anyway! I’ve even had a lady tell my mom “you’re letting her get married that young?” Wtf lol Our colors are a combo of yellow, grey, white and black!

I got engaged when I was 22, and I will be a month shy of 25 when we get married. Fiance is a year older than I am.

@Laurenplusalex: ME TOO! people just don’t seem to give us the time of day because we look so young and they think we don’t have any money to buy rings. I’m a tad older than you right now but will have just turned 27 on the big day

@McBezel: that’s why I love this age of technology. I can send professional sounding emails without sounding like a child on the phone or looking like one in person. I have been taken very seriously in all my online inquiries, but in person I’ve been treated differently, as if I don’t belong.

We got engaged at 23 and will be 24 when we get married. We’re getting married on our 8th anniversary, so there haven’t been too many comments about our age or anything, people know we’ve waited a long time. My family really likes Fiance and are very happy about the upcoming wedding. FI’s mom’s side doesn’t like me much, but his dad’s side loves me. We haven’t picked our colors out yet, but we’re going for an afternoon garden and games party kind of vibe.

@Laurenplusalex: I bet everyone’s just jealous of how good we look 😉 but in all seriousness, its so annoying to get discriminated against because we look young. i went to tiffany to browse for wedding bands and the lady seemed like she thought i was wasting her time. i mean, really?
