I had budgeted $1000 – 1500 for my dress, it was $1100 + tax, and I bought all the materials we needed for alterations for $40.

I still wished that my dress were closer to the $1000, and as such don’t plan on trying to “make up” the savings by spending elsewhere.

My dress come in under buget as well!  I thought my dress at a sample sale, and it was $640, and my budget was $1200.  I will need a few alterations so I imagine the rest of the budget will go there…

I had budgeted £1,000. And my dress was £699. I put the extra towards my accessories (underwear, veil) because the Mr had been doing the budget and thought all the bride needed was a dress!

I had a budget of 1,600 and my dress ended up costing $1000…although I won a $500.00 certificate off my dress at a bridal show and my parents ended up paying for the other half, so I didn’t end up having to pay a cent. I also won free alterations at another bridal show(it was a lucky year haha). We are putting the extra money towards decor…but we will still be saving most and just taking down the overall budget of the wedding.

Yes!  I bdugeted $3,000 for the dress and bought it for $1400.  That extra money is probably going for photography so I can up that budget and get a better package there, but I’d love to just stash it away towards my downpayment for our house!

@DeezWifey: I budgeted $1,000 and it came to $540 after tax! This was in the very beginning of the planning stages (my dress was the first thing I got) so I didn’t technically funnel it to another category then but it allowed us to be able to be a little more flex with other things (extra sweets from the baker for desserts, etc.)

I budgeted $1000, and spent $749 (including the sash I will wear).

Not really allotting it to anything, just figure it’s money I now don’t have to spend!!!

I budgeted $600 on my dress and came in at $98! Now… alterations ended up being about $600 with $300 of that being the bustle alone so I guess in the end I went slightly over but for that being the dress AND alterations? I’d say I did pretty darn good!

I budgeted $3500 with alterations and ended up spending 1100 before alterations. I do not need many alterations so I think I am going to end up at about 1300!!! So happy!!

I budgeted around $500, and I’m spending only $200 on my dress!  I’m assuming the other $300 is going to go towards alterations and accessories though!

my budget was around $2000, but my mom was paying so I wanted to keep it under. I ended up spending $1100 and haven’t “used up” the extra money, but some things I’m sure will go a tad over budget anyway so it willl all work out!
