@Anniebo: I’ve seen it done twice (one was funny, one the DJ didn’t know how to actually have them play the game so it was a bit awkward).

I think it’s a pretty funny game (if played properly) and can be a fun little break in the reception for people get refreshments and have a laugh. It’s like the newlywed game 🙂

I just saw this at a friends reception over the summer and thought it was the cutest thing ever.  Got a lot of laughs and gave friends a peek into their relationship.

I’ve never heard of this but I love anything involving shoes. Please explain!

@laceywings: & @Goodatlove: The one I’m familiar with has the bride and groom sit back to back (usually on the stage or the dance floor so all guests can see).

They take their shoes off and switch one, so that each is holding a groom shoe and a bride shoe. The DJ/MC will then ask all sorts of funny, whitty, or sassy questions (i.e. who is the worse driver, who makes the best pancakes, who has the oldest pair of underwhere, who asked who out, etc) and the B/G respond by raising the shoe that signifies their answer.

The funny part is that they can’t see the other’s answer, but they don’t want to be wrong/rude/awkward, so it can be pretty silly while they struggle with what to answer or if they both adamantly waive opposing shoes in the air. LOL.

I think it sounds fun.  We might do it if FH agrees to it!  We’ll definitely have a road rage question.  lol  I have terrible road rage.

We did this!  One of my bridesmaids got married 2 months before me, so she and her husband played the game with hubby and myself!  It was so much fun, and we laughed SO hard!!

I’m not a big fan of games and things at receptions, so I don’t think we’ll do this, but to each their own!

Definitely do it! My sister had it at her wedding, and it was a huge hit! It’s really fun to watch, and a good opportunity for the guests to get to know the bride and/or groom better! It really all depends on the questions you have though!

We did! It was unplanned but it turned out awesome. Everybody loved it. They wouldn’t let us see eachothers answers though so I have no idea what we answered the same and what we didn’t!

@indibee: Sounds fun!

Btw, did anyone else (who didn’t know what the shoe game was) think of that game in elementary school where everyone takes off their shoes and puts them in a big pile in the middle and the shoes get all mixed up and then whoever can get their shoes back on and tied first wins?
