So I really need to finish addressing my invitations. I decided to handwrite them because I thought it would be a nice touch instead of going the printed labels or envelopes route. Writing out all the addresses, return addresses, and so on is driving me bonkers!
Are any other bees avoiding tasks that really need to get done because they’re monotonous? How do you push through it? Putting on fun music seems to be the only thing that helps me lately!

With any task that I feel is boring, I do it in spurts with breaks. So, for everything 20 envelopes addressed, take a 10 minute break and go read, go for a walk, chill on the computer, and then go back and do it again.

@FloretteLiz: Ha ha – I’m using wedding tasks (and WeddingBee) to avoid working on my dissertation!
Wanna trade? I’ll write out your envelopes if you’ll finish Chapter 3 for me …

Well I really hate writing thank you notes. But I wrote 12 yesterday for gifts ive gotten for my shower (it didnt happen yet but im getting as many done as i can (i.e. writing them for all of the gifts ive rec’d already) before the shower, that way i can bang out the rest quickly after the shower). Was pretty proud of that. I’ve been putting off working on my programs too. But the rough draft has to be finished by Monday for the printer. So I guess I should get on that…

@KCKnd2: lol That’s what I used to do. Now that the semester is over I think wedding stuff has taken place of my homework.
@RhubarbPie: Great job on getting some done early! I’m really not looking forward to those either!
@BetterSherm: That’s what I try do do. “Try” being the word of choice. I tend to go take a computer “break” and end up on weddingbee. You would think this website would give me a little virtual slap to get back to wedding stuff. Sadly the bee is a weakness…
It’s nice to know I’m not the only one not enjoying every single wedding task! I’m excited about being married to my Fiance, but that does not mean every detail of planning is fun dang it.

I love nothing more than crossing things off my to-do list, so this isn’t usually a problem for me… I actually have the opposite problem where I sit down to do something and then miss meals and/or bedtime because I want to finish it. I would suggest taking breaks, though, and rewarding yourself when you get a certain amount done!

@Beckster329: I’m only excited with the crafy DIY stuff. Envelopes are currently the bane of my existance. Your post makes me want to go buy a bag of hershey’s kisses so that I can postitively condition myself with one after every 10 invites! I know that’s not what you meant, but that’s what my brain jumped to.

@KCKnd2: I’m doing wedding tasks to avoid finishing my thesis! lol
