I hate The Knot in general because it’s so un-user friendly and not intuitive at all. That, and the commenters’ profiles get so aggravating. You’ll scroll forever past one comment because of the freaking Lilypie tickers, pictures and random info:

Met: 12/1/2001
Official: 1/5/2002
Moved in: 8/19/2003
Proposed: 10/2/2004
Married: 6/15/2006

TTC since ~October 2010, hoping for a little WINTER BABY!!!!

OMG STFUUUUUUUUU.

I have had nothing but issues from the knot. The girls are very snarky, rude, mean even sometimes. I stopped going on that website and found the bee.. Couldnt be more happy I did you ladies are wonderful!!

Not a fan of “the knot.” The weird thing is that the moderators actually FUEL THE FIRE when people are going back and forth!!

Ladies there get their panties in a mighty twist, they will take a sentence someone says in a thread they start, a nothing snippet, and run wild with it… off on a tangent of their own! Then everyone agrees with the tangent, even though it has nothing to do with the original poster because it has been blown so far out of proportion– I see it all the time… I never post there except for my local board, they seem nice, but I am more of a lurker/reader than a poster type, I see this a lot. Experienced it first hand once many months ago and that’s when I stopped posting outside my local board.

I avoid it like the plague.  My local board is good but everything else is AWFUL.  They quote your post as soon as you post it “just in case” you decide to delete it when it gets out of hand… so your post lives forever even if you don’t want it to.  How nice.  The moderation over there is out of control too… they’re worse than the regular posters.  I can’t believe that the message board even exists to be honest.  The Knot should be ashamed of themselves for letting it happen – it’s a totally hostile environment that gives them a bad reputation.

I hate the knot because I ordered things from their shop…they never sent any emails confirming…nothing came up under my email address on their site, so I ordered again. This time I got a confirmation email that told me if anything was on backorder, they’d let me know. Well, nothing, so I assumed it was ok. Two weeks later and no shipment, I call and after 40 minutes on hold, I talk to someone they tell me my stuff is on backorder.  I tell them that I got no emails to that effect and  to cancel my order.  My wedding was in 2 weeks and I needed those items.

So that day, about 6 hours later, I get an email that I’ve been charged for my order.  I think…ok, that must be a mistake.  Nope. Once I noticed my credit card charged, I called, spend another 40-45 minutes on hold only to be told they’d reverse it. I have emails confirming it was their mistake.  Wedding comes and goes, no refund.  I emailed and was told that they don’t have records that a charge was made to my card. Called again…wait on hold 40 mins…more bull crap.  Had to dispute with credit card.  Finally got my refund and actually got a call from them (what a novelty!).  I was told it was their new computer system.

Terrible customer service!  I will never go back.

I think that the longer signatures are actually a code for “I am going to be a bigger b*tch to you.”

@KristenGotMarried: I notice this too!! I could never put my finger on what the purpose of it was. I just know I don’t see this anywhere else… like why quote a post you’re responding to if you’re the first responder or third responder? I could understand a couple pages in if people are talking about something else at that point!

@yassim:  I’ve seen that happen here too though.  But I will agree that the Knot is not as friendly as the Bee is.

is it just me or wasnt there a thread like this last week…. with the exact same subject? Just don’t know if it’s worth starting it up again, .. it got shut down with all the drama.
