@miss.nicole:Honestly if you just don’t respond to their posts they have no fuel for their fire. It’s bullying 101. If they can’t get a rise out of you then it’s unsatisfying for them. That’s how I handled my situation, although I did vent here a bit haha. Bee for the win 🙂

@Bostonsmom: i have to disagree, m’dear.  maybe we haven’t seen the same posts, but there is a tremendous amount of bitchiness for bitchiness’ sake over there.

I agree with all of you! At first (when I didn’t know about weddingbee) I posted there alot. Lately though I’ve noticed they all get mad at stupid stuff! I was reading a post in the “etiquette” board and they got mad at someone for not using periods at the end of her sentences. Then one girl started a new post and was telling everyone she was sorry if she had been rude to anyone. They called her a “troll” and basically started fighting with her. I mean really people, that’s uncalled for. Constructive criticism is one thing, but being a rude bi*ch is not right. I’m much happier here!

I hate that place, I recently read a post on their etiquette board written by a girl who was asking advice on how to respond in a polite way to people who dissaprove of the age difference between her and Fiance.  They literally just shit all over her and told her how big of a mistake she’s making and how immature she is and that by posting asking for advice she knows she’s doing something wrong and shouldn’t be getting marrried.  It was horrible and I felt so bad for this girl, when she tried to defend herself and made it clear she wasn’t looking for their approval, ONLY suggestions on polite responses they came back at her with “NO ONE HAS BEEN RUDE TO YOU BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH”  Poor girl wanted advice and they ripped her apart.  Who gives a shit if they don’t agree with the age difference, IT’S NOT THEIR LIFE.  Ugh, “Knotties” make me so mad, and seriously people…KNOTTIES?

ETA:  Someone actually asked the OP why she was being so “butt-clenchy”….what?!

I don’t mean to be rude about theknot.com because they have a lot of good inspiration but I had nothing but a negative experiance on their boards. I once asked where I could find a cheap crinoline to dye and I got about four responses of “this question was already asked – try reading the other post before hand”

It was the FIRST time on the board, my bad…

Holy cow, yes!  I literally just wrote about this.  A lot of people ask about cash bars, because let’s face it, weddings are uber expensive.  Now I know cash bars are an etiquette no no but I understand a lot of brides aren’t going to spend several thousand extra dollars for the sake of etiquette.  But if you write the words cash and bar in the same sentence you may as well be admitting to commiting a capital crime.

I’ve had issues in the past with them as well, they are a bunch of 18-25yr olds who bully and harrash anyone who happens upon their web. Especially the NEY Board. Its like war of the Worlds btn the 2 of you lol!!!!Surprised

I just stumbled across this post and went over for a look! Holy crap there’s a bad vibe on those boards!! I presume they must have nothing better to do to fill their day, or are just a bit young and immature,

I feel the weddingbee tone is far nicer- and dareisayit, potentially higher calibre of poster??

Erm…don’t know how this wasn’t shut down a year ago, but mods don’t like people bashing  The Knot around here.  By bashing another site, WB becomes just as bad.  Let’s stick to being positive.

Yeah people are generally just saying how much nicer weddingbee is by comparison!

Those girls report everything just to be mean. Every time I look at their boards I feel like I need to slap someone! They are such b****s, often for no reason at all. It’s like they enjoy making others feel bad just for the heck of it. I am never ever posting on TK again! Ladies here are so much nicer. 🙂

I’m also not sure how this thread slipped through the cracks, so I’m going to go ahead and close it. I hope we can all agree with the OP that we appreciate the positive, helpful support that we find here in the Hive, so we can’t condone threads that are written to talk badly about another specific forum.

Here’s the line from our Terms of Service.
