I use my thumbnail to push my lip in so I can rip the skin off them with my teeth. My lips are always chapped and awful looking because I pretty much eat them off, to the point they crack and bleed. It’s horrible.

@emilygrace07: I count stairs too or sometimes just randomly I’ll start counting my steps. I’ve even counted how many times I bounce my leg. Counting steps and stairs has gotten better when I started exercising and also since I work at a desk job but it would get bad and I even annoyed myself. Oh gosh this thread makes me wonder if I need OCD meds lol.

@SweetMelissa429: Lol I mess with my eyelashes so you’re not weird for that at all! I also pick at my nails. And this isn’t really a nervous thing, more of just a random habit, but I play with my ears a lot and rub my stomach. . Fiance thinks it’s so cute when he sees me rubbing my tum or playing with my ears in the middle of our convos.

i bite my nails, but not just my nails like the whole finger, skin and all. Its disgusting and makes my fingers look horrible but I’ve done it since I was little and cannot stop!! I’ve tried everything from “dont bite it” to gloves. Currently I have fake nails (acrylic) and i’m doing pretty well, although i still like put them in my mouth, but my fingers are healing. I hope I can keep it up for the wedding, no one wants to see the bride having horrible fingers when she shows off her ring!

I have a few! I bite down really hard on pen lids at work and sometimes I flick my pen back and forth. I also clench my teeth badly and sigh a lot. I must be a real joy to work with! A guy I work with has a nervous tendency of holding his arms close by his side and flipping his hand when he talks. It reminds me of a penguin 🙂

@misspeanut: I pull out my eyelashes too…almost every day…I don’t wear mascara to work but when I am wearing mascara I have to tell my SO to keep an eye on me. I also pick on the skin between my thumb & finger on my right hand. Don’t know why I do it, but I do. Sometimes to the point where it gets past all the layers of skin and bleeds. (Sorry it this is TMI)

@OUgal0004: Same here. I’ve got blood stains on several articles of clothing from the carnage I wreak upon my cuticles. I used to bite my nails, but I have TMJ (most likely from all of the flesh nibbling I do) so it hurts a lot to bite through my nails these days.
I also chew on the inside of my cheeks. My ex called me a cannibal.
