I will have to get that shot also.
In terns of getting “butt shots” in general….they are really not bad. I used to be the depo shot…every 3 months for 6 years. I found that the shot in the butt hurt less than the arm 🙂

Yep, I “get” to have the shot too (A-, hubs i O+). I’m not really looking forward to it. I’ve had one other shot in the butt and that was like 15 years ago…and I cried. My husband will be there with me when I get it…I tell him it is his fault I have to get it so he has to hold my hand.

I am not sure this is the something, but my mom used to joke about how my dad had to chase her around the house with a needle to give her a shot in the butt which helped her concieve. Thus, this is how I was made :]
I have a lot to learn too, I believe, about literally…making babies! I don’t know what blood type I am sadly, although bf knows he is a O+

I got it 2 weeks ago, didn’t hurt a bit but I definitely thought it was going to be in the upper arm.
Both my husband and myself are – blood types so I am really not sure why my MD was adamant about my needing it since we are compatible.

@farmgirl2106: I am O negative and had to get the rhogam shots as well. I lucked out and my baby girl is also O negative so I didn’t get a second shot. I will have to go through the rhogam shots again for any other pregnancies. I thought my shot was going to be in the butt but they did it in the arm!!! I was so happy haha. But my friend had it done both ways and said the arm her worse (and she is a tiny girl)

I’m so happy to hear that it isn’t that bad for the majority of ladies. I don’t think my OB/GYN offers the arm version, but it is good to know that one is worse. 🙂

Don’t know if it’s good or bad that I’m seeing this now. We won’t be TTC until after the wedding, but I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to have this wonderful little shot. Boo. Fiance will def have to go with me, like @MzMarzipan said, it’s his fault 😉

I meant to post last week, but I had my RhoGam shot last Tuesday. It was a butt shot & it didn’t hurt at all! I didn’t even feel it. (:

That’s funny, I actually just had the shot last Thursday. It was also the same day as my gestational diabetes test. My butt was a little sore for about 15 minutes after I left (so yes, I felt it), but my arm killed the whole day because the needle got wiggled a little while they switched the vials. But, at least it is over for now. 🙂

Yeah, shots in the butt definitely hurt a lot LESS than shots in the arm! I had the depo shot for four years and half the time I got it in the butt, half the time in the arm (just depended on what I was comfortable with that day) – my arm was always sore and achy for a few days afterwards. With the butt shot, I never felt anything – and trust me, they use a BIG needle for that, so I am sure you will be fine!
