I think they’re overhyped.  But as a fencer from college, I am PSYCHED about the fencing competition.  I’ll watch swimming, equestrian, and gymnastics if they’re on, but that’s about it.

@WillyNilly:  I don’t care for them either.  Maybe it’d be more exciting to actually be in London and check out the activties.

Here! I’ll watch them if they happen to be on wherever I am, but I just don’t consider athletic prowess to be the pinnacle of human achievement. Good for them though.

I can’t get over the logo. Yes, that’s me, OCD Graphic Designer to the extreme, but I can’t bring myself to watch any of it because of their awful logo. I usually see a few things when it comes around, but I’m going to avoid it at all costs this time.

I’d watch them if I could, but we don’t get television (only use Netflix) so I really don’t care!  I didn’t even know what day they started (…I’m guessing today?)…

LOL!

My FI and I talked about the same thing just last night.  We’re so-so about it, we’ll keep up with it somewhat but we’re not really into it all that much.

I care about the winter Olympics because there is hockey. But the summer Olympics doesn’t appeal to me.

totally. I really wish I was though. I’m going to try to get into it and keep up with the news on yahoo, but let’s see how well that works out lol

Nope, I’m not that excited about the Olympics either. I’ve never been excited about the Olympics and actually get somewhat annoyed when I flip to a station and all I see/hear is Olympics this and Olmpics that. I get it, the Olypmics is a great way for the top/most skilled to compete against each other, but seriously people… it isn’t like the Olympics only happen once in a lifetime for the folks watching. When I was younger and was aware of the Olympics for the first time, I was excited and watched it with my parents (well, we didn’t have cable so pretty much it was the only thing to watch…) but now, the Olympics is just meh to me.

If I had a personal connection to someone in the Olympics I would probably care more, and would probably watch a lot more. However, I’d rather be blasted 1,000x times more with stuff about the Olympics than to hear one more thing about the Royal Wedding.

@WillyNilly:  I don’t either. Maybe I’ll pay attention to the news to see how my state’s local golden boy, Michael Phelps is doing from time to time, but that’s about it.

I never have in the past.  I do care this year because the captain of the Japanese team is from the microscopic little village I lived in for two years, and I know his family.

Otherwise…  Whatever.

@elysion:  they’re doing streaming online for free I believe so I think you can watch!!!!

I am excited because this is like the only time I get to see swimming. As a swimmer I hate that it is NEVER televised. I think I’ve seen the national championship once on tv, and it was on ESPN 3 or something like that (I was in a hotel so that’s the only reason I got ESPN 3)
