Themes are expensive and/ or time consuming. People have been getting married for thousands of  years without a theme. I think I’ll join them.

LOL I think some people are in denial about having a theme to their wedding.

But lots of things qualify as a theme, a general focused vision, a color, a time period, an object, love, traditional etc.

Figuring out whether you have a theme or not might be where you are overthinking it.

I didn’t set a theme for my wedding. I’m just basing everything on the look and feel that I want to have. I guess if you had to label it, it would be “elegant romance”. My venue has big crystal chandeliers and has a modern/old world french chateau feel to it. So I’m doing lots of neutral colours with small hints of colour and lots of candles. But I honestly think themes are kinda childish and over-rated. It’s a wedding, not a production show. But to each their own I guess. To me, a wedding should just be picking the look and feel that you want to have overall and pulling everything together through your venue, colours, decor, dress etc… So I don’t think you’re overthinking it at all. I think what you picked is perfect and will look beautiful!

FutureBride625:  I honestly don’t know if I have a theme. My dress, my hair, my makeup is all vintage inspired from the 50s, but that’s it. Everything else is just nice, summer semi-casual with shabby-chic elements. If that lends itself to a theme, it’s not intentional. I am just picking what I like.

No theme here either. just a color scheme (plum and gold) like someone else stated, our theme is simply getting married 🙂

There was no theme for us.

And it’s your wedding. Not a birthday party.
