My day is totally crawling by, but being on Weddingbee definitely helps!  No big plans this weekend except for brunch with friends and my first bootcamp class, which I’m super nervous about!

When I think about NYC rent, I cry a little on the inside… There was a brick house for sale with  like 4 or 5 bedrooms, inground pool, acre yard, fireplace, etc for about $400k where I used to live. That would MAYBE buy you a 2 bedroom condo in Brooklyn here… *sigh* We’re currently paying about $1100 in rent for two bedrooms which I know is a total STEAL, but still, in Indiana we’d at least have central air for that price… lol Ah well

It appears to be mostly New Yorkers here that are super bored. City with everything but not enough for weddingbees….lol

$1100 rent for two bedrooms?!  You don’t live in Manhattan, right?  That is an incredible price!  I paid more than that for a one bedroom when I was living in the Bronx.

I don’t even want to tell you how much I pay for a 450 square foot one bedroom.  And it’s a total steal for my neighborhood.  I’m rent stablized, and market rent for my apartment is astronomical.

Definitely not Manhattan. Brooklyn. Nice, safe area Brooklyn too lol And it’s actually a bit less than that even after it was just raised a bit… Im not sureof the square feet, but I definitely wouldn’t mind it if it were just hubby and I here, and maybe a kid or two. But alas, its not the case, and thats why it makes me cry on the inside because I know we’ll never find better than this

I’m a native NYer and I still haven’t gotten used to the prices here! I pretty much have a higher salary than a lot of my friends–but they can afford homes and cars, and I live in a little one bedroom with Fiance. We are upgrading to a 2-br in December but there goes our attempt at saving money.

Sheepshead Bay. I think we got lucky. I don’t think most of them are this cheap in the area. There are some super big mansion houses if we walk down a bit over the Bay (right close to Manhattan Beach). We aren’t quite in that area though lol

I honestly really want to move out of NYC in the future, but Mr.Joe loves it so I’m not sure if that will happen. I could care less where we lived as long as we both had nice jobs, its fairly safe, and housing is affordable… I plan on going to school to be an art teacher and I’ve heard those jobs are a little more difficult to come by, so we’ll likely relocate anywhere I could get one

I’m still getting used to SoCal prices…they’re higher than Chicago and we’re only one income because my hubs is a grad student.  Thankfully he had family friends that are renting us an adorable little house for about 60% of what it’s worth!

Anyway, my day is going really slowly too…but I have things I need to get done.  Just gotta find the motivation.

But i want to make it to 2500 posts first!

Longest day ever!!! I tabulated a report incorrectly (despite checking it twice) and my boss chewed me out big time for it. He made me feel so small and stupid (yes he has a habit of this!!). That on top of fighting with my husband at lunch and this is the worst day ever! I’m sitting in my office crying watching the minutes tick by.. praying my boss doesn’t come in and yell at me for crying! bleh!
