I have some lovely silk I just made my MOB dress out of. I would like to have it on shoes. Has anybody tried covering pumps with fabric? Or know of a good resource? I would buy shoes at the Goodwill to practice on! Thanx in advance.

I think you will be making a big mistake if you decide to glue fabric to your shoes! It How about making some cute bows or flowers out of it and making them into little shoe clips like this:
Hhey are super cute and not permanent!
hope this helps!

I would say if you’re DEADSET on having the shoes in that fabric, find a cobbler (check your yellow pages or etsy) and find someone who can make the shoes using it for you.
I’m afraid glueing to a preexisting pair of shoes would not end well…
Otherwise, robin had a great idea of using the fabric to create an embellishment that you can add to a simpler shoe (coordinating color, or white/ivory to match your dress).

This site sells directions to create a fabric collage on shoes, I would assume it would be fairly similar to doing it all in one fabric. I think directions are $3

FYI for anybody else trying this: following direx I found on line, I bought a “test” pair of shoes at the Goodwill for $3.60 and made a pattern out of scrap fabric and then out of my red silk. One site said to use Weldwood Contact cement. That doesn’t work out well because the contact cement saturates the silk and it looks awful. Then I tried Shoe Goop. That works ok if and only if you can put on a small enough amount so it doesn’t show through the fabric. I threw the whole project away. It was fun, though!
