My DB experience was just fine. Both times I went to try on dresses the hostess and the consultants were very nice and helpful if a bit overly sappy about all things wedding related.

Getting my alterations was easy and went well (though if I could go back I’d have all my alterations elsewhere just for prices sake).

Trying on Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses went fine. We were able to find something everyone could be happy with. Some of my BM’s had some issues with ordering/alterations/etc. but nothing major–all businesses have ways that they work and DB is a bit more strict about time frames.

Overall I had a good experience, though I definitely think they take themselves a bit too seriously ๐Ÿ™‚

I had an awful experience.. BUT It depends on where you go.. different states different salons obvioulsy have different workers, policies etc. I know girls that have had great experiences I just unfortunately wasnt able to experience that. Good luck.. DB is very convinent for Bridesmaid or Best Man expecially if they are not all living in the same area.

I think it depends on the location. I had an awesome experience at mine.

I have had a very good experience with David’s Bridal overall. I got my tea length Ivory wedding dress with flowers across the chest there, as well as a headpiece and a pearl bracelet. They were very busy the day that I had my first appointment (It was on a Saturday around 1:00 pm) and I didn’t have to wait long at all. They accomodated me quite well and they never pressured me into buying anything one bit. When I went back to try my dress on, the lady that helped me even took a few pics for me.

My dress needs some alterations and I’m looking into other places for that since they are so expensive though. They also didn’t have any tea length crinoline slips there for my dress.

I agree that it depends on the location. My local shop was great. My best friend who is also getting married is going to try on dresses at another DB location this weekend so we’ll see how that goes.

I had a great experience with DBs.  I purchased a dress and brought it home September of last year.  I then found out in December that we were expecting #2 and I immediately knew my dress wouldn’t fit.  They are very strict with returns, as in they normally don’t take them unless you are switching out the color of the dress.  I was able to exchange my original dress for an equal amount in merchandise.  I walked out of there with a new dress, a rehearsal dress, my shoes, my mom’s shoes, my daughter’s flower girl dress, and 6 wristlets.

It really all depends on the mood of the people you have to deal with.  My first time in there looking at Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses for a different wedding was horrific, but the 6-7 times I’ve been back for things with my wedding has been phenominal.  Just stay away from there on the weekends.  It gets pretty crazy in there.

I bought my wedding dress at David’s Bridal and I had a wonderful experience! I had a lovely woman named Anna help me. She knew exactly what looked good on me and she gave me a lot of helpful advice. I ordered my dress and they said that the latest it would come in would be October 31… Well it came in already and I have it in my closet right now! It looks beautiful…. I am planning on getting my bridesmaids dresses there in the color Sangria… I also one time locked my car keys in my car in their parking lot and they helped me by calling AAA for me. Seriously I have only had great experiences with David’s Bridal.

My overall experience with them has been okay. My main complaint is the amount of time it took to check out (40 minutes) and then I had to go and exchange my mom’s dress and that took over 30 minutes. Also, my appointment overlapped with another bride’s so the consultant was constantly neglecting one of us. =/ Just depends on the specific store though I guess.

I did! My consultant was AWESOME. I described what I wanted and she quickly ran and got the “perfect” dress. I fell in love with it. Went to 4 other stores and still came back to it. The alterations lady did an amazing job too. Over all I had a great experience.

I had a great experience!!!  I went to the one in Fort Myers while I was visiting my parents.  The consultant was helpful & also let us pull whatever we wanted.  Tried on a ton of dresses and she was there with a smile to help and was running around helping me with veils and accessories (but only when asked, not in a pushy way).  Loved it!  Found a great dress and then was able to take it home that day (was a sample and fit perfectly).  Overall a great experience AND the alterations (bustle & slight shortening of hem) was done in TWO DAYS!  Love love love & would recommend to anyone ๐Ÿ™‚

Guess i’m a little late to weigh in here.. but though I would add my 2 cents.

While my experience at DB wasn’t the best to begin with, after I swapped consultants I had a wonderful time.  The DB business model will NOT allow you to have the “Bridal Boutique” experience.  Here’s a suggestion, if you want that experience, go to a boutique and pay thouse prices.  If you are a budget bride and/or don’t have the ability to go to a boutique- go to DB, but remember that this is NOT a boutique.

Also- DB is ot a place to bring 6 people to help you pick dresses.  Bring just 1 or 2- It will be easier.

Hope this helps!

I had a good experience as a bridesmaid, but not so good as a bride. I traveled 1200 miles to shop with my parents. My mom made an appointment a month ahead of time, I had checked off favorites online in my account (which I don’t think they could bring up) and came with the list on paper as well. So, the consultant was very sweet and did her best to find the dresses I wanted to see. The problem I had was not with my consultant, but with the manager. As soon as I started to actually try on the dresses that were pulled, the manager called my consultant away to help with a bridal party. So, I had to come out of the dressing room and search around for someone to help me everytime to clip the back of the dresses. My consultant came back when she could to assist, but it was very frustrating because I’d had this appointment for over a month! What’s the point of making appointments if the girl gets pulled away to help a group that just walks in.  I ended up going to a salon the next day, without an appointment and although they were busy I had the BEST experience. I received good advice and the prices were actually reasonable. I ended up selecting the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses from DB (different state) and they have given my SIL a bit of a problem. So, at this point I wouldn’t recommend them and I honestly think you can find great deals at smaller salons and much better customer service. I am all about giving business to smaller businesses when I can anyway.

I had a GREAT experience. My consultant was phenomenal. I swear it was fate. She was so helpful in picking my wedding dress, and I obviously requested that she help us at our bridesmaids dress appointment. Again, she was so sweet, helpful, and patient. Every time I’ve had to go back to pick up a dress, she just happens to be there, and she has taken the time to say hi to me and ask how plans are going. It may have been a stroke of luck getting her as my consultant, but I honestly can’t say I’ve had any problems with David’s Bridal throughout the entire wedding planning experience.

Pro’s-i have gotten several Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses there without any problem. Got my Wedding dress there, arrived 10 days later. (Got alterations elsewhere)

Cons- Despite falling in love with my vera wang white dress, the trying on experience wasn’t that great. My consultant was good but the rooms are tiny you change in, there were no mirrors in mine so I had to go outside to get my first look at it as all my BM/ family were already staring at me so it felt uncomfortable. I would have liked to already have seen it and had my feeling about it before seeing everyone else’s reactions to it first. But I LOVED my dress, as did everyone and happy I went there.

I just went on wednesday, and had a good experience. My consultant eventually was working on two brides, but we were side to side commenting on each other’s dresses ๐Ÿ™‚

She was very helpful in finding my right size, and pulling things that looked like dresses I had already picked out. I wasn’t forced to look in the catalog, and when they handed it to me I just said no (I had printed out some I wanted to see)

I think she could pull every one for me in my size, except one- which was about two sizes too small, but I didn’t like it anyway in person on the hanger.

I purchased the first dress I put on (after trying on others of coursE) and everyone was really excited about it ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m not thrilled I have to drive an hour and a half to go pick it up, but I’m not doing alterations there (my consultant even told me if was better if I knew someone else to do them since DB charges an arm and leg for them… luckily where I work there are tailors with 25 years experience)
