@JessKatsuko:  Super pretty!! What type of setting are you thinking of doing for it? Or is your boyfriend going to pick the setting? I’m excited for you!

I have a love for unique/non-traditional settings, and I have a few that fall into that category. But my stones are mostly rounds and ovals. I have a heart-shaped garnet and a heart-shaped diamond. I think those are the only truly non-traditional stone shapes I have. Although I’m not sure heart shape counts? LOL

@JessKatsuko:  Oooooh that’s really neat! What kind of setting are you going to put it in?

I have a star shaped amethyst which I think is a bit untraditional:

I have a cabachon sapphire with a halo, but I don’t have an easy way to upload the photo. I love how unique a cut it is.

So exciting! Post pictures of your new ring when you get it! My wedding ring is a burgundy chalcedony.

@JessKatsuko:  Your ring will be gorgeous! I love your setting idea, and I hope you don’t have to wait too long to have it made. I have never seen mokume gane in real life, so I hope you will share lots and lots of pics once your ring is done!

I love Krikawa’s designs. Are you going to have your ring made by them? They are so creative and beautiful. I can spend hours browsing their site. And it’s so neat that your boyfriend is excited about your rings and being able to match. I always wanted matching wedding rings with my hubby, but our tastes are too different — ha, ha!

These are a couple of my unusual settings/rings.

daaaamn these stones are so unusual and pretty! I do love a good unusual sparkle.

My ring is a peach (padparadscha) sapphire, which is one of the rarest sapphire colours there is, apparently, so I guess it counts? Mine is a fairly traditional oval, but I love interesting cuts too!

Your hex looks stunning!! I almost went for an OEC hex, but then fell in love with this octagon. Just got it this, so I don’t have a ton of photos.

Yellow diamonds are still relatively uncommon and cushion brilliants are very rare (you can see the clear distinguishing 4-point star coming from the center) so here’s mine! πŸ™‚
