I am making menu cards to tuck in a napkin placed on each plate at the reception. We previously decided to rent lines from our facility, but to save some time I was thinking about purchasing the linen like napkins and prefolding the napkins withe menu cards ahead of time.
Anybody have any experience with these?

I’m interested in this also, thanks for posting.
I’ve also seen linen-like paper overlays that are within my budget and fit my theme…where are you thinking of ordering from?

i used them for my outdoor buffet reception and they were absolutely great! i’m lucky enough to live near a restaurant supply store that had samples of them to touch, they are wonderful-thick and pretty soft. as far as disposables go they are the best – good luck!

I am so glad someone has replied to this thread because I was curious to know too. I am having an outdoor buffet and have considered going the disposable route as well. I’ve spoken to a rep at DontDoDishes.com who has offered to send me samples. They were not free but if I purchased from them they would apply the cost as a credit to my purchase. I think I will browse restaurant supply stores before I go this route just because I really hate paying for shipping. When I do that I will be sure to post it here.

We bought polyester napkins on craigslist and will be prefolding them. I suppose we’ll have to do laundry afterwards, but we’ll be able to resell them and not throw away all that paper. And I just like real cloth napkins.

I don’t have any experience with them. I made all my napkins http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/cloth-napkins-finally-finished-sewing-them and will be prefolding them with the menus inside them. I am trying to make our wedding as green/eco friendly as possible.

I used Better than Linen Buffet Towels at my outdoor reception. They’re disposable napkins but are pretty heavy-duty and look and feel like real linens.

@j.grossman13: what restaurant supply store did you go to? I work in Harrisburg and I would love to check out the place you mentioned!
