My future step-daughter plays (JV captain this year!) and loves it.  No advice, but worst case is he tries it for a year and then decides not to do it again.  It’s great physical conditioning, good for team building skills, leadership, etc.  Only downside is FSD lives in Portland so it rains constantly, and they play rain or shine.  We went and saw a game last week and it was in the 40’s and raining the entire time… those girls are made of tough stuff!  If you’re unsure about him liking it, maybe see about buying used equipment before investing in pricey gear.

Dh Played field right through university and from the fact that every time we go back to watch his retired jersey is hanging and people seem to know him was apparent pretty good :p

He coaches little kids and still plays with a men’s team locally and a work based team that plays in their international competitions.

Not likely to make a million playIng lacrosse but a good lifetime sport and to learn teamwork and stay in shape. Lots of hockey players play Box lacrosse in the off season for conditioning and the strategy involved can be projected to hockey if you enroll him in that later.
