I love my set so never took off the band for looks. But I used to go out with a group of girls who were about 10 years younger than me and way prettier, and I would occasionally take off my band because I wanted to feel like people might think “oh, how sweet — someone wants to marry her!” rather than thinking “ugh, some poor schmuck is stuck with that!” LOL, I was dumb.

I wear my engagement ring alone as my wedding band for that reason. I just liked the look of it by itself.

I’m worried I will Because they don’t match, but Fiance chose it and I will love it forever.

Yeah I generally don’t like the look of an ering and a wedding band together on the same finger, especially if they don’t have slim bands.  Which is why I’m going to wear my rings on separate ring fingers 😀

I’m not married yet, but I do kinda like the way my engagement ring looks on it’s own.

gpiglet:  I’m 36, my parents have been married for almost 40 years.  I’ve never seen my mom wearing her wedding ring once.  It’s always just the engagement ring.  There’s no mandate that you have to wear a set.  (Personally, I like the single ring look better, too.)

gpiglet:  OMG! I was just thinking about that the other day when I was taking some photos of my rings(obsessed). I discovered I do miss it a little and while picture taking I just took a pic of my engagement ring solo.

My SO offered to up his budget for the ER to include the price of the wedding band (Tacori wedding bands to not come cheap!) if I just wore my ER alone, so I am thinking of doing that. Plus there isn’t one that exactly matches my specific ring either.

PaulLieou:  Very pretty setting! It’s similar to mine except in rose gold so I’m a bit partial lol! Mine has diamonds on each side in the spaces next to the halo though.

gpiglet:  I often wondered about this too. I adore the “engaged look” and how perf a solitaire looks by itself. I’m not married yet or engaged for that matter (almost) but if I want to I would rock just my rock 😉

I really like the way my ering looks alone but I feel weird not wearing my wedding band(s). It also spins and doesn’t balance right on my finger when worn alone.
