I  don’t have a wedding band.  My ering has diamonds on both sides of the center stone….so a band would interfere and cover them up on one side.   It doesn’t bother me a bit.  I think of my ring as a  stand alone ring. 🙂

I love the way my ring looks solo and can’t imagine any band that would improve it. But I don’t particularly like sets in general. Plus I’m not into jewelry much and this is the only piece I wear. 🙂 Do whatever you’re comfortable with.

mschwartz459 :  not silly at all! Some rings are more beautiful alone! I’ve been married 14 years and my new ring (lost my previous rings in 2013), looks much better alone! Everything I try with it, takes away from it! I love super thin settings, and adding a band, made it feel thick to me! Rock your rock all by its gorgeous self!

I have one but my aunt who’s been married 15+ years has never had one.

I only wear a wedding band. I never got an engagement ring and I like the ease of only one ring.

My mom has only ever worn one ring, so until I was older I didn’t know about having separate engagement and wedding rings, hah.

mschwartz459 :  When I first got my engagement ring, I didn’t think I was going to find anything that I liked with it. I tried on so many different styles that I thought were going to complement it, but they didn’t. Eventually I tried on a simple, matching band and realized that I liked how it looked and I didn’t feel that it took away from the beauty of my ring. I don’t think a band is necessary if you really don’t want one, but I do love what both of our wedding bands symbolize, which is much more special than just the ring itself.

I wear a wedding band even though I prefer the look of e-rings by themselves. It just didn’t feel complete to me without one and I love what it symbolizes and that anyone who sees me recognizes what it means too. Although everyone here says most people won’t notice (which is true) some people do, like me. It’s not on purpose, but I do note if someone is engaged or married when I meet them. I’ve also had one man ask me, “you don’t wear a wedding band?” when I mentioned Darling Husband, so it further reinforced for me to always wear one.

I struggled to find a band and ended up going the custom route. I personally would have felt weird without a band, but it’s all preferences and what you like/are okay with it. I wouldn’t think anything of it if I saw that you didn’t have a band

I will be wearing a wedding band on my left 4th finger and my engagement on my right.

I usually just wear my engagement ring as it’s more comfortable (and more beautiful to me).  Also my wedding band completely does not go with my engagement ring (long story).  After a while, it started feeling weird not wearing a wedding band so I got a slim band to sit flush against my engagement ring.  But at home, I STILL do not wear a wedding band with my ring LOL

I was like kipeters and didn’t realize wedding bands were a thing haha. I guess I never noticed people’s rings till I got engaged myself.

To answer your question though, I told my Fiance to not get a wedding ring, because he will find the weight annoying and end up not wearing it (knowing my Fiance who refuses to carry even a WALLET, I knew he wouldn’t like a ring). I want a wedding band just to complete my pretty set, so I guess one of us isn’t getting a ring but the other is.

I’m thinking of wearing my wedding ring on my right hand and e-ring on left. This is common in some parts of Europe , although not in the UK where I live but me and Fiance both really like the idea of them being standalone rings 🙂
