@thepuzzledpeach: I am so excited for it! It will be a 3 stone ring with an oval center and small pear side stones in platinum. Hopefully it comes soon! I will post a pic when it finally arrives.

@thepuzzledpeach: Me! I’m waiting on two orders. They have had my diamonds since 1/22 and 1/25. I’m in production too with ship dates on 2/25. My patience is thin, lol.

@yeri85: That sounds beautiful! I love three stone rings, especially with pear side stones. I can’t wait to see it!
@Heidibrooke: Ah! You must be dying for them to ship! What are you having made?

@thepuzzledpeach: Yes, so excited! I’m having my oval diamond (profile pic) reset in almost the same setting, except yellow gold. I’m also upgrading my rhr. It’s a .59 round set in a rose gold halo, and I’m upgrading it to a 1.08 True Hearts round diamond, in a yellow gold solitaire. So, pretty basic stuff but I’m so excited.

Well, not within 6 months, but I ordered my ring in the late spring/early summer of last year. They had to wait a bit for the setting; it had been delayed because the company that manufactured it is based in NY and was having trouble filling orders due to the pandemic. I believe they had the diamond on hand since it’s a True Hearts and they were able to look at it. It took a little over a month to get it.
I was a little leery of JA since they sold the business to Signet, owner of Kay and Jared jewelers. You couldn’t pay me to shop in either of those stores. But they had the kind of stone I wanted for a price that didnt give me a heart attack. I have to say they were excellent at communication. You can call at any time, and they’re just as good about getting back to you after the item arrives. (I wanted an appraisal and to their credit they didnt give me a bullshit appraisal that said my ring was worth $15,000 more than I paid)

The solitaire is from JA, the eternity band is not.

@Heidibrooke: So exciting! Please post pics when they arrive!
@sunburn: Wow! That is absolutely stunning. A month turnaround in the early days of the pandemic actually sounds pretty reasonable. I was also leery of buying from them after hearing that they’d sold to Signet. The stories I’ve heard, about Kay Jewelers in particular, are appalling. I did a lot of googling and it seems like people continue to have good things to say about James Allen though. Hopefully it stays that way!

@greeneyedbee: @thepuzzledpeach: It’s a 4.1ct True Hearts, J color SI1, set in platinum. On one occasion when I called the helpline because I wanted to change the setting, the sales assistant said that the diamond was gorgeous, and she couldn’t say the same thing about a lot of other ones she sees lol. She was pretty funny.

@yeri85:
This is very helpful info. I just started the upgrade process TODAY, so I was wondering how long it would [realistically] take.

@spacetygrss: nice! What will your upgrade be like? For me the part that seemed to take a long time was the inspection and credit for my original stone. From the date it was delivered to the James Allen offices in NYC it took about 3 weeks for them the process it and put the credit through for the new upgrade ring. Once that was done it moved to production immediately with a ship date that was about 1.5-2 weeks later. But who knows if they’ll actually hit the estimated ship date. I’ve read stories about peope where they kept having the ship date moved back multiple times. So I’ll post an update when the ring actually ships!

Ugh. I hope that they hit your targeted date and that everything goes smoothly for me. I did this once before about 5 years ago and it was pretty painless….but, we weren’t in a pandemic back then.
Anyhow, I’m upgrading to a 2.02 carat, G VS1 GIA XXX solitaire in a platinum setting. I’m upgrading from a 1 carat stone that was in a cathedral-style setting. Fingers crossed for a smooth process!

Meeeeee!!
My ‘build your own’ solitaire was a fraction late – I think the shipping date was set to be the 15/1, then 16/1, then 17/1, before finally shipping on the 18/1. Delivery to Aus was smooth.
my wedding band shipped quickly, but then got stuck in Hawaii for close to a week with fedex.

I can’t wait for you to get your ring, it looks gorgeous!! I’m currently waiting for this ring from Etsy. It’s a 1ct equivalent marquise moissanite set in 14k rose gold and CZ side stones! I ordered it Jan 31 and it should ship sometime this week. I am getting so antsy for it!!! The ring is a Valentines Day gift from my husband that I will wear as an alternate engagement ring 🙂

@diddles112230: Stunning set! What are the stats on your ering stone (if you don’t mind me asking)? It’s beautiful!
@FinallyMrsSmith2020: That is beautiful! I LOVE when a marquise is set in a halo, so elegant! Please share pictures when it arrives!
