I’m having a fake bouquet that I have made myself. I don’t want to have to worry about anything on my day. Flowers not being there at the right time is my nightmare and I don’t want to think about it (I’m sure that never happens, but it was easier for me to decide to make my own). A few people have cringed (they aren’t coming anyway) but I’m super happy with my decision.

beetothesea :  I ordered my flowers from Wedideas on Etsy.  They use fake- silk flowers.  They look totally real.  They have so many amazingly beauitful options.  Here are a few of their bouquets:

I just don’t want to deal with fresh flowers in Florida in June. There’s so much that can go won’t with them. My FGMIL make all the arrangements in silk flowers. She wants me to do the bouquet in fresh so I might but I’ll have a faux one ready in case I end up running into trouble with it. I couldnt care less if people think it’s tacky. Im not dealing with fresh ones .

I diy-ed fresh flowers and it was a nightmare, working right up u til the end. The benefit of fake flowers is that you can do them ahead of time. If you are looking for ways to save money on flowers, you might want to consider Bouquet for a Day (bouquetforaday.com). It’s a website that matches local brides together so that they can share wedding flowers.

Following. I am just now looking into bouquets and wow, I didn’t realize how much real flowers are! Also it seems that most people don’t notice fake flowers. I just wonder if in professional photos you can tell

Hey bee

I used fake flowers for bouquet, boutenierre and flower crown. We eloped though and didnt have a wedding so this made sense to me and made them myself. Personally i was happy with them. Here’s some pics so you can see how they looked

apophyllite :  I love how your flowers pop in all of the photos! And how blissfully happy you two are! ๐Ÿ™‚

We used fresh flowers for our wedding but our centerpieces were not very flower heavy. I actually think they look very plain and basic (we were goingfor a beach vibe). I just hope no one cares a lot about centerpieces aside from us. ๐Ÿ˜‚ In the photo below, the candles have not been lit yet.

For our post-wedding shoot, I used sola flowers ordered from etsy. I think they’re beautiful. And with artificial flowers, you have more color options.

munchkin0417 :  Omg, I loove your shoes! Tiffany blue is my fave ๐Ÿ™‚ May I ask where you got them?

apophyllite :  Nice! We plan on a very small destination ceremony, so artificial flowers may make the most sense. Plus, I want really vibrant colors ๐Ÿ™‚

adreamdeferred :  They’re from Badgley Mischka. If I remember correctly, they’re called Amaze.

adreamdeferred :  nice! Since my flowers were only going to be seen in photos I went a very cheap route and got all of my flowers from the dollar store! As well as pins for the boutenierre and floral tape! Very cost effective!
