I am 26,almost 27 and I HATE people and their comments like “you look 17!” and “YOU‘re getting married!” It’s people I don’t know, but blah, I hate it.
Just yesterday we went with my FH to go see the limo company. The owner guy was like “you’re the bride?! You look like the kids I take to prom” SIGHHH

I’m 28 and I go to a local community college. I am regularly mistaken for an 18 or 19 year old.

I have a friend that is 36. She looks like she’s 12 and she gets asked about her age a lot because she has 2 older kids. We went to visit a friend in a hospital together and they asked her for her license…you had to be older than 16 to visit.

I’m 29 and work on a college campus. People always ask me if I’m a student. It used to annoy me but now that I’m pushing 30 I think it’s flattering.

I’m 29 and I get sad when I’m not carded so I LOVE it when someone tells me I look young. Lady at the nail shop said I looked 22 the otherday. I was floating all day long! Enjoy it. You’ll miss those comments when you’re old and wrinkly!

I had someone tell me they thought I just graduated high school. Personally, I don’t think I look you at all! But I have gotten the “you’re so young!” comment before I got married, but it was mainly from people who are not close to me and DH. I’m sure in 20 years I’ll be happy I look young, but for now, I’d rather look my age!

Not quite 26 yet (halfway there) but I get it all the time – both my husband and i look young though…I keep thinking of all the sad looks i’ll get when i get pregnant “that poor girl, so young”
anytime i go to buy alcohol i get questioned about my ID – whens your brithday? whats your address? really people! i dont know how i even got away with a fake ID when i was younger – blows my mind.

I’m turning 26 soon… and I look like I’m 16.
Here are my 2 favorite stories:
At a baseball game and order a beer. The woman asks for my ID, I hand it to her. She looked at the ID, looked at me and said, “There is no way you are 21.” She started quizzing me! “What’s your address?”, “What’s your height?”, “What’s the expiration date on your ID?” Finally (after correctly answering all the questions) she gave me a sideways glance and was like… “If you are going to order alcohol you need to make yourself look older! Put on some makeup, wear some high heels!” I was speechless. I’m at a baseball game, not a night club lady…. I’m 25, now give me my damn beer!!!!!
In April I went on a cruise with a girl friend. They stopped me before we boarded the ship and asked me who my guardian was. I didn’t know what they were talking about so I just kinda gave them a blank stare. They then told me that anyone under the age of 18 could not board the ship without a guardian. They checked my ID like 5 times before they finally let me board.
Everyone always says I will appreciate it when I’m older, but right now it is a serious hassle to get stopped everywhere I go.
Oh yea I was also ID’ed last year because I was buying an ‘M’ rated video game at GameStop.

So I’m no longer in my twenty’s, sorry for posting in the 20-something board, but I had to tell you that I still get it myself, even at work and I’m a nurse and I’m 30. Just the other day I got asked if I was 19. It sucks, but I try to look at it as something I will be happy for when I’m older 🙂 Even though I really don’t get it, I’m pretty sure I look older then that.

It’s a lot better than being told you look OLDER than you are. Trust me…annoying as it may be, it should make you happy.

@dolphi99: Ditto. Sorry for being 30 something and posting here but trust me, ladies! Be flattered! I inherited good jeans. Although 38, so many people have told me “I thought you were just a kid, 25 maybe”. It makes me feel wonderful. Although it’s annoying when I forget my purse and get carded and have to go all the way back home for I.D.

I always get this too. I’m going to be 31 next month, and I still get mistaken for 21. My favorite story was when we were moving into our new house. We have liquor stores here in PA, and they give away free boxes, so I ran to one that was next door to a bar. As I was going back and forth with the boxes from the liquor store to the car, there were a few guys out smoking by the bar. One of them asked if I needed any help, and I politely declined. He then asked me if I was moving back into college. I just had to laugh…but it certainly made me feel good!!
Try not to take it as people putting you down or not taking you seriously. You’ll love it when you’re 30 and people think you’re 20! And even more when you’re 40 and people think you’re 30!

I’m sure I’ll appreciate it someday! I’m almost 26 and I work for a school district and get confused for a high schooler all the time. I was at a wedding two weeks ago and the bartender asked me my birthday and he said he thought I was about 15 years old! I agree, though, it’s better than someone thinking you look older. Plus, I always just say I forgot my ID and get the college student discount at the movies 🙂
