@SamanthaLovesJames: We watched SYTTD episodes together so I could get a sense of what dresses he liked. He loved the satin, smooth look. I tried on that style dress and just wasn’t thrilled – they looked like evening gowns on me. I ended up falling in love with a sparkly lace dress. Ooops!! LOL

@SamanthaLovesJames: When I asked him what he might like to see me in, he said “I’m not really sure…” but then it turned into a whole list of details, most of which didn’t make sense together LOL for example: strapless, but open back. The list was pretty long but I decided to make it easier and show him dresses that I liked and although his opinion wasn’t the ultimate deciding factor, I do think I picked one that he seemed to love.
We also watched quite a few episodes of SYTTD and he would comment on the styles he liked or didn’t like, but once I started trying on dresses and I found out how heavy some of those styles were, I told him to shush haha

Yep, I even showed him a bunch of pictures from pinterest and he said Yes or No. Realized he liked a ball gown, I was thinking fitted b/c he likes my butt…I ended up going with a ball gown for my ceremony and a fit and flare for my reception. I think he’ll be happy with both!

Yes, I asked.
He told me that he pictured me in a princess dress because “im the motherfuckin princess”.
He’s a weird one, but he hit it spot on. The only dresses I was interested in were big poofy ballgowns.

Yep! He’s a big fan of the boo-tay so his request was that whatever I got showcased and flattered that area. I acquiesced. 🙂

Fiance and I were looking at wedding dresses before I had begun actively looking. We both decided we hated mermaids. He liked a-lines. I ended up with a mermaid. Sometimes I think that he might not like my dress and then I remember he is marrying me and not my dress.
Plus, I look damn good in it so it won’t matter! 😛

I did and he told me whatever I wanted. That I would look gorgeous no matter what and that he doesn’t want to see any dresses at all.

@SamanthaLovesJames: we picked the dress out together.

Yep! He said strapless and poofy, but not too poofy. Helpful.

I did, and he hit the nail on the head!

Nope. I did not even think of asking him and truthfully, he does not care. I could show up in a burlap sack and he would probably be just as happy!

@SamanthaLovesJames: I showed my Fiance the pictures of the dresses my mom chose for me tro try on (one was super ruffly-which is NOT my thing) and the other one I just got lost in it was so big LOL He said the same things I did about the dresses when I showed him them…so at least we were on the same page about what we DON”T like. haha The only thing Fiance said is he would like my hair down since he loves my long hair. =

@SamanthaLovesJames: I asked and he said he likes “straight dreases with sleeves” — sounds AWFUL, right?!
I made him find what he meant on google images and he ended up really loving Jenny Packham dresses, so lightweight sheath or column dresses that aren’t strapless. I love Justice of the Peace but those dresses aren’t in my budget, and I’m also not 6 feet tall to pull them off like the models!

I asked my fiance when I was first looking at dresses after showing him some styles that I liked (they were mostly ballgowns) and he said that he thought a ballgown would be nice… Later, I tried on a fit n flare and was surprised by how much I liked it, and he knew all this… The next time I asked what he would like to see me in, lo and behold, he says “I don’t know, I think a fitted dress would be really pretty on you…” UGH. He’s just telling me what he thinks I want to hear, which is so him. I’m sure he doesn’t care all that much, but at this point, I’d like to know if he has an opinion just so I’d have some reason to pick one style over the other. I know he’ll think I look great no matter what I wear, but I really am of two minds so I would love to know his thoughts.

He knows nothing about different styles of wedding dresses. He just said “something floofy.” lol
