I didn’t directly ask him but one day, I was browing through the posts of the “Rebellious Brides” blog and I paused when I saw this photo of a beautiful Veluz Reyes gown..
And his attention must have drifted from the TV to my laptop screen at the same time because he said “That’s you. That whole look is you”.
Well I would’ve been an idiot not to go with it because it is how I envisioned myself on our wedding day.

I took my Fiance with me to go dress shopping with my MOH/Big Sister… they both like simple A-line or Ballgowns. Only a minimum amount of lace and beading. And he was happy to explore colour; Red or Black.
The two dresses that my Fiance really loved were a Tulle Ballgown;
And this Lace & Satin gown;
I did really think I woud get one of those two but then I fell in love with a very Blingy Mermaid. Fiance & MOH hated the dress on the hanger, but love me in the dress.

@SamanthaLovesJames: Yep. I wanted to know what he liked and didn’t liked but luckily it was nothing too picky haha

@SamanthaLovesJames: I did and didn’t get too much of a detailed response, just got ‘nothing too big’. We went through some pictures and he liked lace sleeves but I didn’t find any. He liked what I chose.

@SamanthaLovesJames: Yep. the answer was Big, White, Dress. So I guess that meant he was thinking traditional. He also mentioned a veil. So I got one of those too! 🙂

I asked my Fiance. He said he didn’t like ball gowns because the dress would be in the way if he hugged me (I have no idea if that’s true). He also didn’t like strapless because at his mom’s wedding she spent the whole time pulling her strapless dress up.
I ended up with an A-line dress with straps, which fit his criteria. We ended up having the same taste.
We were at a wedding recently and the bride had a beautiful train. He did not understand the train and thought it was weird. My dress has a train. Oh well! I couldn’t imagine wearing a dress without a train. Hopefully he’ll love it on my dress since I will be wearing it.

I did! We talked quite a bit about the different styles and about how they would pair with my body shape. We also looked through pinterest and watched SYTTD and I picked up some details there. He actually went to try on with me and we both have very similar taste. We narrowed it down to 2 that we both liked, he and my Maid/Matron of Honor liked one more and I and my mother and Mother-In-Law liked the either. I ended up buying the one that I liked. Eek! I just figured since I’m the one wearing it all day I want to wear the one that makes me feel the most beautiful and secure. I think he’ll just know it’s white, I don’t see him really remembering the details of my dress haha.

Yes, I showed him almost the same dress in a magazine and he hated it. Do I care? No, because I love it, I’m wearing it not him!

I’ve asked him, but he refuses to give me a straight answer. He jokingly (I hope) has requested big, puffy, 1980’s-style sleeves. I once showed him a picture of a dress that is similar to mine and he said it was the ugliest dress he’s ever seen in his life. I was upset for all of five minutes and realized how little he will actually be concentrating on my dress that day.
