So my dress fit me PERFECTLY when i bought it. but since then i have gained weight 🙁
i have been working out/dieting but i am freaking out that my wedding is 4 weeks away.
all i really need is about an inch taken out for the top/chest and i have only found 1 other place for wedding dress alterations near me and don’t really have time to shop around
i called today and they said they could squeeze me in tonight thank god!!
i am just looking for 1 person to say they loved their db alterations!!!
when i bought my dress they were wonderful! they were wonderful on the phone today, and i am hoping my alterations will be too

I had a really good experience shopping at DB and will be going back to get my dress when it goes on sale again to the price it was last week (you KNOW it will, it’s DB). But as far as alterations, I haven’t heard anything much except that they’re very pricey. But at least if something happens to your dress they’ll be getting you a new one.

when i found my dress they told me when the next sale would be so i could come in and purchase it then, you should ask when the next sale will be. I have heard they are pricey, but i think with my time frame i do not really have a choice

do not use them for alterations. they will overcharge you, and they will most likely mess up your dress. find an independent tailor or seamstress. it’s safer and your dress is in better hands.

Ok, this concerns me a bit… I want them to do an under bustle on my dress but now I’m concerned they will screw it up, and cost me an extra $100. Maybe I’ll just get my mom and BF’s opinion when they see it in a couple of weeks. Gah.. 🙁

I had a good experience – although the only alterations I had done was a change out of the belt included and a 3-point underbustle, so simple stuff that didn’t change the structure of the dress. I think I paid $70 total, and it was ready pretty quickly.

I had a good experience. My dress had to be hemmed. I added buttons down the back and they did a 7 point underbustle. They were quick and did everything just as I needed them to. I think it cost around $200 but that was bc I added the buttons and my bustle had 7 points….. it was worth it in the end though!!

I’m having them do my alterations–haven’t gotten my dress back yet. They have to take the entire applique off of my dress, take it in, replace it, hem my dress ~4 inches, and do a 3 point bustle (just the style of dress..doesn’t look right with more). The dress is being taken in along the hips, bust, and booty area…so it’s a lot of work!

alright so i went in thinking my dress would need to be taken in.. and IT FIT PERFECTLY!! WOOHOO (so happy!)
i ended up just getting cups added in (20$) i could tell she was not happy that is all i decided to do. she tried to talk me into hemming the dress, which i did not want to do. I love the way it hits the floor, and do not want it hemmed. after finally convincing her there was no way she could talk me into it, she tried to talk me into a bustle. i let her show me how it looked and did not like it.. so i didnt get that either.
another thing is i wanted to pick the dress up may 24th so i could make sure it fit fine in advance incase i loose/gain weight in these next couple weeks, but she told me she could not do that because i am only 4 weeks out from the wedding, so i HAVE to pick it up on the 29th. the only reason this bothers me is I am only getting cups added, nothing else…so why can’t i get it earlier?
anyway, i am just so glad the dress still fits perfectly. thanks everyone for telling me about your good experiences, i was so nervous to go there!

Yeah, I used to work there and they are always trying to up-sell. That’s why I broke away and started doing alterations independently. I would say most of the time the quality is good, but I agree, the prices are outrageous! I’m glad you only needed cups! I have no idea why she wouldn’t let you pick it up earlier. I know they have a rush fee on anything two weeks or less, but you said 4 weeks sooooo, that’s weird.
