My induction ended in an emergency C-section after 48 hours of labor. It was the worst experience of my entire life BUT we are all okay, and that’s what matters.

My recommendation to you would be to prepare for a C-section (as in, make sure your house is set up to accommodate recovery from major abdominal surgery – I had to sleep in a recliner because I couldn’t lay flat, couldn’t go up or down stairs, needed prepared easy freezer meals longer than I thought, etc). Be assertive about your preferences in the hospital. Ask questions if there’s a procedure or a medication they’re using that you don’t know about or are uncomfortable with. Make sure your partner knows the things that are really important to you and that he will advocate for you.

Good luck!!

BeeinBlush :  Wow, that was impressively fast progression. Congratulations on your son! So glad that you were able to have a safe delivery — AND advocate for yourself while in the moment to have a vaginal delivery! Hope the recovery is going well and you’re enjoying the newborn days (and nights 😉).
