I am an october girl and a paranoid one. I am trying to stay away from the islands most likely to be involved in hurricane activity in October. I have read that Aruba is out of the belt and should be okay. We are also looking into Hawaii but really want to go all-inclusive so that is not panning out well.
Anyone been to Aruba? Where did you stay? Best things in general? Worst things in general? any advice is welcome!

LOVE ARUBA! We’re October as well! 🙂
We went in late Aug/Early Sept. right in the middle of hurricane season and the weather there was perfect! We stayed at Eagle Beach which was awesome! It’s the less crowded beach (up where the high rises are it’s much more crowded!!) There were white sandy beaches and the water was sooo clear and warm!
Things are definitely expensive there. But it is incredible. It’s broken down into like 3 sections… High rise hotels, eagle beach, and then downtown. There are a TON of casinos in Aruba. Most hotels have their own. Downtown has lots of clubs and bars. High rise there are a ton of bars and resturants too. Downtown we found a great resturant that was a good price– Iguana Joe’s.. very good!
The only reason why we aren’t doing Aruba again and going with St. Lucia is there aren’t that many all inclusives to choose from. We didn’t do all inclusive when we went… we got an awesome deal on cheapcarribean.com
If you guys like to do day trips, we did the Jolly Pirates– it’s a pirate ship that takes you to a couple spots to go snorkling. It’s open bar and they give lunch. There is a rope you get to swing off the boat on and there is a net at the top of the ship you can lay on while you cruise over the water– so cool!!! We would have done it everyday if you knew about it sooner!
GOOD LUCK! It’s gorgeous! PM me if you have any questions!
