CakeSniffer:  OMG I am saving that link. I have been looking for a hotel with a pool overlooking water, which is a tall order in Ireland! I was thinking about splurging on a few nights at either Adare Manor or Dromoland castle and then staying in cheap hotels/b&b’s/airbnb’s for the rest of it. It will depend on if we have enough miles for free flights and how our finances look when all is said and done with the wedding, but a girl can dream!

CakeSniffer:  I have found nice vacation rentals on AirBnB and VRBO for less than $100 a night (some are even $50 a night for the entire house!). I would highly recommend checking those out as well to balance it out!

CakeSniffer:  we are planning on Ireland for May 2016 too!  The wedding is May 14 and we would leave May 15.  My Future Brother-In-Law just did a 10 day trip.  Said Killarney was awfully boring and didn’t recommend it (Contrary to many other tips, I know!). So we are still deciding on cities.  We may do 3 days in Dublin, 2 in countryside, then head to London!

I live in Ireland (DH is Irish) and think your itinerary sounds pretty great. I much prefer the west coast of Ireland. If you decide to do any castles I really recommend blarney castle in cork. It’s about an hour and 20 minutes from Killarney. I love Galway and the burren. Send me a message if you have any questions or want hotel/restaurant recs. I’ve been everywhere you listed except the Aran islsnds. My husband and I love Killarney and stay there often.
