@Birdie Love: my family is from Puerto Rico tho i’ve only been there 2 times my entire life…lol (i’m 25)  i would say for a honeymoon, look into the hotels, most are in the major citys like San Juan…. the island is small and i remember on one of my visits we went all around it in 1 day… lol  its beautiful there….i would just stick with the tourist sites, some of the back streets and towns are ghetto (no offense to my rican fam!)

We went to PR in February of this year. We stayed here http://www.condadoplaza.com/ . The hotel was nice and modern but the beach was tiny. We’re not huge water people so it was no big deal but if you’re wanting alot of beach it’s not the hotel for you.

@Birdie Love: Check out http://www.cheapcaribbean.com. We booked through them and depending on when you’re travelling and how flexible your schedule is you can find some really great deals.

OMG I love it there. I’ve been there over ten times… I have stayed at the W, El San Juan Hotel & Casino, Ritz Carlton, ESJ, and the Concha . The other times were with family but my favorities were Ritz, El San Juan, and the Concha. El San Juan has more of older feel while La Concha is more young, vibrant, and modern. You should definitely check out the rain forest.. beautiful and worth the hike. I also went parasailing, snorkeling (the have a private island u can go to where the water shimmers), jet skiing, and sight seeing to various towns. The neighboring towns are so pretty and have more to offer. PM if you need anything else. 🙂

the Fiance and there went in February. We also went through cheapcarribean.com mentioned Cheeks.  It save us quite a good deal of money.  We stayed at the Wyndham Rio Mar. The beach was beautiful and San Juan was a short drive. I thought I wasn’t going to like it. Some of the “ghetto” factor described above, but honestly I have been to Hawaii 3 times and PR is better if you stay in the right place.
