I am getting married next saturday (eeeeeek)
I have been trying to look at the weather in st lucia for the honeymoon Oct 17-25 but everytime i look it looks like 50% chance of rain. I wanted to know if anyone has gone this season or other hurricaine seasons and what it is typically like there.
thanks!

Be aware that HALF of St. Lucia is a rain forest and that section rains all the time all year round. We went in December 2 years ago and it was funny because you’d drive literally 5 feet and all of a sudden the rain would stop! I haven’t been in hurricane season, but I’m just wondering if maybe it says 50% chance of rain because of the rain forest? I’ll also note that even in the rain it was warm and balmy (most of the rain was just like mist!).
St. Lucia is my favourite place on earth…enjoy!!

I used to live in the Caribbean… usually October rain will just come and go throughout the day. Sometimes you’ll have an hour or two of rain and other times it will come and go in 5 minutes. If you’re fair skinned (like me!) you’ll appreciate some extra cloud coverage it provides! As long as your don’t have any hurricanes or tropical storms heading there while you’re on island, you should just have some very scattered showers. They’re really more refreshing than annoying. Besides, it’s likely you’ll be in the water or in your room the whole time anyway! Who cares if it rains!!
Have fun!!!

Hey! I didn’t even REALIZE you were from Cincy too! Yay! We’re thinking Barbados right now… but it’s going to be tough to decide!!! We went to Paris this year (and Prague and Budapest) and last year we went to New Zealand and Australia…so we’re a little worried our honeymoon will pale in comparison!! Ack!
You’ll have to let me know how your honeymoon goes! I definitely haven’t ruled out St. Lucia! I just haven’t found any bargains yet!

we went to France & Germany last December. I think st lucia will be better lol…. all inclusive, no trains, warm, & relaxing. We worked with Kellie from First Discount Travel in Blue Ash and she is great! She has her own personal photos of the places she has been!

If you look at the weather forcast for any tropical destination, it will show rain every day. That’s because it does rain every day! Typically you’ll have a short afternoon shower that will help cool you down, followed by sunny skies. And storms at nite are common as well.
St Lucia doesn’t sit outside the hurricane belt, but hasn’t had a direct hit in years and years. I wouldn’t recommend the Caymans or Bahamas during hurricane season, as they tend to get hit more frequently, but you should be ok with St Lucia.

we were in st. lucia in august–it rained a lot but for really brief periods and didn’t hamper us at all. we LOVED it, it’s total paradise. we’re going on a cruise this winter that stops there, so excited to go back!

My future brother inlaw and his wife went on their honeymoon, they said it rained everyday at the same time but then it got really nice out and everything dried up quickly.
