ChrissyMary9515:  I listed and sold a dress in 3 day on Preownedweddingdresses. It was an allure that I sold for half the price. If the price is good it will go fast! Also, I just ordered my new gown yesterday and I have 6 months till the wedding. So do not worry there is still time to get a dress!

I currently have my dress listed on three sites for the past week and haven’t gotten emails other than scams! haha. I lowered the price today to see if it helps.

I have a dress listed on preownedweddingdress and tradesy. I’ve also listed it on here and on Craigslist. I have gotten a few bites bit nothing serious. It’s new with tags, but the pricing structure is off sometimes. Like the gown I have listed is still in stores and it retails for $599 full price, but I’ve never seen it for more than $559 or $499. (it’s ALWAYS on sale.) but some of the women who have posted my exact dress have the price jacked up to include tax and accessories. so it looks like they’re giving you this massive discount  when they really aren’t. It also sometimes is a pain that your dress won’t always show in search results. that mostly happens on preowned but their customer service can’t tell me why. I can usually only find my listing when I search the exact style number. General searches with condition or pricing preferences don’t pull it up.

I’m sorry that your experience didn’t work out for you. That sucks! I bought my dress preowned off of a seller on preownedweddingdresses.com. It’s a Pnina Tornai ball gown. It’s paid for and is being shipped to me right now and I’m extremely nervous that it won’t fit or that I’ll end up being scammed. I don’t think that’ll end up happening, but it’s still nerve racking nonetheless.

I think in regards to the fit, I’ll be okay since it has a corset back and the seller and I have similar measurements. And I also made sure that I did my research and due diligence with the seller and she seems legit, so it makes me less apprehensive about the process. But I don’t think I’ll feel fully okay until the dress is in my hands and I’ve tried it on.

I know the dress will look good on me so I know that won’t be an issue. It’s just a matter of whether it’ll fit me or not. But it is my dream dress and I am saving over 60% off the retail price and it’s in my size so I was willing to take such a big risk on it. If it ends up fitting then it will be the best decision I’ve ever made! If not, then I can re-sell it and I’ll still have enough time to get another dress since my wedding is over a year away. But I hope it doesn’t come to that. I’ll be heart broken if this dress doesn’t work out!

I wasn’t willing to pay for this dress brand new since it would be way too expensive for just wearing it for one day. But I ended up getting an amazing deal on it so so far I am very happy, just nervous. I will keep you posted when I get it though and how it works out πŸ™‚

This is my dress:

ChrissyMary9515:  Thank you! I hope so lol I’m spending too much money for it not to… even though I’m getting an amazing deal on it! My dress is worth $9000 brand new and I paid $3000 for it. But I think it’ll turn out fine! I think I’m just over working myself since I’ve spent so much money and I haven’t even seen the dress in person lol It’s all those “what if’s” running through your head wonding if it’s going to work out the way you hope it will. And you’re right, most of those sites protect you if you buy something and the item ends up being different than what was orginally described by the seller or doesn’t get shipped to you at all to begin with. You just have to make sure you do the transaction in a safe way, like use PayPal or something like that. That way they can fully protect you if you do end up being scammed. I made sure to do it through PayPal so if anything happens I’ll be okay, thank god lol But I think it’ll work out. I’m so excited to get it! I will post an update on here for you when I get it so you can see πŸ™‚

Btw, I’ve been told that to order a wedding dress brand new, you usually need a minimum of 6 months. Sometimes more or less depending on the designer. So if you want to get a new one you might be okay. But you’ll have to act fast if you want to do that. And if you don’t find anything that way, then you can try the preowned route. Or you can go right into the preowned stuff lol I know it’s nerve wracking and it’s definitely a risk but it can be well worth it too. I would never have been able to afford my dress if I hadn’t of done it this way, so there’s lots of good that can come out of it. It just takes a lot of trust, that’s all lol Good luck in your search though and I hope you find something that you love. Keep us posted!

I bought my dress second hand off still white, I wanted a design that is no longer in production so second hand or a knockoff was the only route for me, and I chose to rather go preloved original than a knockoff

kmdunford:  gorgeous dress! Keep us posted! I bought a pre owned that’s beautiful. Slightly long, a little tight in the hips and big in the waist but nothing a few alterations can’t fix!

I bought my dress on Craigslist and it was a great experience. I took my Fiance with me for safety reasons. I got a great deal on the dress, even considering the alterations I’ll need.

Thank you! πŸ™‚ I’m happy it worked out too! I’ve been so impatient and anxious waiting for it to get here haha but now I can relax! I obviously need some alterations done to it since it’s too long on the bottom and some of the crystals on the bodice need to be replaced since some of them fell off. But when you buy a wedding dress, you expect to have to get alterations done regardless. It’s also a bit too small, but I planned on losing about 15 or 20 lbs so I can look my best on my wedding day! So that won’t be hard to do. Otherwise, it’s perfect πŸ™‚

How are you doing with your dress situation? Have you figured out what you’re going to do yet?
