I didn’t buy mine directly from the rental company, but I did buy a former Enterprise rental car from a local dealership. It was Certified Pre-owned, so it came with additional warranties and a 125-point inspection. I also got the complete vehicle history report, which showed that the car had received regular maintenance and had no major accidents or repairs. The interior was in great condition, you could hardly tell it was a used car. I’d say that people actually tend to be more attentive when driving rentals, despite the claims of some other posters.
Other than having more mileage on it than the average 2 year old car, it was in great shape and I got a really good deal on it. I’ve been driving it for over a year and haven’t had a single issue with it.

ladyvictoria : I am planning on buying a Nissan Rogue too! It is a 2018 with only 11,000 miles on it at a grea price. Thanks for your insight!

wineosaur : Totally agree- anytime I used a rental car I was extra careful. Thanks for your feedback. The only reason I considered buying from a rental company is because the one I wanted at the Nissan dealership actually came from Enterprise as a rental and someone scooped it up fast. I don’t think people realize many used cars were once rentals.

My husband’s last pickup truck was a previous rental. His boss is a partner in two dealerships, one of those is a preowned lot. One of his job perks is a company vehicle that is also his primary/daily car. His last truck was a rental purchased at auction and taken to the dealership where they check it out, clean it up, they replaced the interior with leather, and sent it to my husband. It was a Ford F150 and in great condition – basically like new. They would usually swap his trucks every 1-2 years, he had that truck for about 2 years.

I bought my first car from enterprise, well from a dealer but it had come directly from enterprise. It was loaded will all the options I never would have been able to afford at that time and was cute as heck. It had been well maintained and never been in a wreck. I loved that little car and it lasted me years. I highly recommend it. My husband’s car was also a leased car, we got it around 4 years ago and we’ve never had a problem with it.
