I haven’t tried on any veils yet because I’m still waiting for my first fitting (which, is hopefully, this weekend…after several mishaps by the bridal salon). But has anyone ever bought veils before trying any on? I’m just anxious to get everything over with!

Yup I ordered a simple fingertip-length raw-edge veil from the Internet without ever trying it on… I bought it used so I figure I can resell it at the same price I bought it if it doesn’t work out, but if it does then one less thing to worry about 🙂
But if your first fitting is this weekend, then you can try on the store’s veils while you have the dress on. I would wait a few days in case you find a style that you love… And then you can buy one from the store or order online (the bridal salon where I bought my dress charged an arm and a leg for their veils).

Thanks ladies! I went to the first fitting on Sunday, and they didn’t have any veils in the store (because it was just a satellite office, weird I know). The bridal lady did say she will bring some for the second fitting, hopefully it’ll work out… I might do the online buying route if they’re going to charge a lot for it
And that IS a gorgeous veil!!!!!

I wasn’t sure I even wanted a veil for my beach wedding, and as I was discussing it with my best friend, she offered me hers. I have a great pic of my BFF putting “my” veil on me on the day of, and it was an easy way to save $150-200 (plus, it’s something borrowed!).

I haven’t quite picked mine yet, but I’ll order it without trying it on once I do. I refuse to drop $200 on a veil in a store, so I’m going with used or Etsy or Ebay.
