We just decided to buy tableclothes, but they will be plain white.  They were going to be the same or less than the cost of renting them, and we figure this way we can probably resell them after the wedding.  I can’t see us needing nearly 40 white round tableclothes again in the future!

I don’t have photos, but a couple of ideas:

-I went to a wedding last summer that used plain white tablecloths, but used thick (in this case) brown ribbons laid across the table to add some interest.

-If you have plain white tablecloths, you could buy a clored gauzy fabric that would look nice.

Good luck!  We just went to the rental store today to look at tables, tablecoths, etc. so I have all these details on the brain!

Can you rent them through another company other than your caterer or venue? There are some great companies out there with beautiful linens.

I plan on using my venues plain white table clothes and I’m going to make gray linen or silk runners to go on the tables.

@pinwheelspoprocks – have you checked Etsy? I have a DIY project that I need to buy fabric for and at first I checked JoAnn’s but was a bit horrified at the prices of some of the fabric I liked. I then did an Etsy search & found some that I love and it’s way less expensive (even with shipping) than JoAnn’s.
